The Diablos beat Los Alamitos in the quarterfinals, Mater Dei in the semifinals and St. John Bosco in the championship game.
Mission Viejo’s offense was spectacular as expected, but the secondary shined and was instrumental in the team’s championship run. Tesoro transfer Mikey D’Amato had an interception in the endzone against Bosco in the championship game.

Travis Anderson, Carter Boskovich and Roman Hardin are all versatile guys who will get playing time in the Diablos’ secondary this season.

My post-tournament interview with Kadin Semonza of @missionfootball. He threw some nice passes to Jack HOLMAN today and he also spread the wealth around to his other receivers.@SoCoastLeague pic.twitter.com/lnz4qDEddV

Top prospect Mikey Matthews Mikey Matthews 5'10" | 180 lbs | WR Mission Viejo | 2023 State CA caught the game-winning touchdown pass from Semonza on the final play of the game to beat Mater Dei in the semifinals. In my opinion, Matthews has an opportunity to be a top five receiver in Southern California this season and put up massive numbers.

Andrez Lewis had a touchdown against Los Alamitos and could be a sleeper receiver this season. Edward Schultz Edward Schultz 6'1" | 195 lbs | WR Mission Viejo | 2023 State CA , a Colorado commit and JSerra transfer, could be the team’s fourth receiving option this season which is very dangerous.
The Diablos will host their own passing league tournament this Saturday which will feature some teams that competed at the Battle at the Beach.
