As they look to take their sophomore season snaps underway in the coming months, we’ve seen a number of stock risers across all positions. Without further ado, let’s dive into Part 1 of our Stock Risers.
Ethan Plumb Ethan Plumb 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB St Charles North | 2025 State IL Twitter
Mr. Plumb is one of a few QBs in the state to take their freshman snaps on Varsity this last fall season and one that is going to be a top name in his class over these next few years. His ability to add easy velocity across all level throws (level 1, level 2, and level 3) is one to keep an eye on as he delivers the ball into the receiver’s basket both when he’s working in platform and on the move. Let’s not forget that he has a compact delivery/release, can drive off his back foot, and has his upper/lower half working in unison when he’s working on the move. What’s impressive is his decision making as throughout his film, instead of forcing a throw, he can pull the ball down to scramble. This is where his toughness and foot quicks are showcased as he can play through contact and isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder to gain extra yards. We’re just scratching the surface with his potential. Currently holds an offer from Purdue University and Iowa State University.
Gabe Kaminski Gabe Kaminski 6'3" | 220 lbs | DL Nazareth | 2025 State IL Twitter
Mr. Kaminski works as a 7 tech where he continues to work through the whistle even if it seems like he’s going to be blocked on the play, so much so that in a few clips he works through not one but two blocks to make the play on the ball. What really stands out about this young man is his active hands at the point of attack right when he gets out of his stance. This results in him generating pressure on the quarterback as well as disrupting the play in the backfield. Both of which he comes away with sacks and tackle for losses. Let’s not forget about the few plays where he delivers a hit on the ball carrier forcing fumbles either. He currently holds a handful of P5 offers with the latest offer coming from the University of Illinois.
Andre Lovett Andre Lovett 6'2" | 170 lbs | DB Eisenhower | 2025 State IL Twitter
Mr. Lovett takes snaps at various positions on the defensive side of the ball being put at safety, corner, nickel corner, and rover position. His ability to trigger downhill quickly when he’s at the safety position as he plays the alley well. When doing so he can not only close quickly to secure the tackle but he can also come away with strip fumbles at times as well. This young man is a force in run support as he can not only secure open field tackles on the perimeter but also in the box. The potential is off the charts for this young man as it’s only the beginning of the type of player that he can become. Most recently picked up an offer from the University of Tennessee.
Jovan Clark Jovan Clark 6'0" | 200 lbs | ATH Morgan Park | 2025 State IL Twitter
Mr. Clark is one heck of an athlete that can work across all the different linebacker positions and can work out of the rover position as well. All of which, he can trigger downhill quickly in close space to not only meet the ball carrier at the line of scrimmage but disrupt the play in the backfield to secure the tackle for loss. Once gets his eyes set on the ball carrier and is flowing to the ball he can close quickly as he’s a bullet getting to the ball carrier and making a play. Let’s not forget about his ability as a return man as well where he showcases his foot quicks once he finds an alley and returns the kick for six. All in all, this young man has impressive closing speed and is aggressive at the point of attack when he’s coming downhill in the box. Currently holds a handful of offers with his latest offer coming from New Mexico State University.
TaRyan Martin TaRyan Martin 5'8" | 180 lbs | RB East St. Louis | 2025 State IL Twitter
Mr. Martin is a young man that I was able to see in person during the 6A State Championship. I said it then and I’ll say it again, this young man has the potential to become a BIG TIME recruit in the midwest as he’s only just starting to scratch the surface of his full potential. His ability to find the hole and hit it hard are one to keep an eye on as he stays N/S on inside the tackle runs. When he goes outside the tackle, he has the lateral quickness to turn the corner and once he does he uses his foot quicks to gash the opposing defense. If you don’t hold your gaps and leave a sliver of an alley open, this young man will use his vision to find it and will be off to the races with his foot quicks. Let’s not forget about the glimpses he showcases of his body control as well, another area to keep an eye on. Picked up his recent offer from the University of Toledo.
Jason Dowell Jason Dowell 6'4" | 275 lbs | DL Belleville Althoff | 2025 State IL Twitter
Mr. Dowell has a good frame to him standing at 6’4 275 which he uses to his advantage to disrupt plays on the defensive side of the ball. Don’t be fooled, this young man is quick out of his stance to gain the advantage versus the offensive lineman that he’s going against. In his pass rush he continues to work through the whistle even if he gets blocked initially, by doing so he’s not only able to keep himself in the play but he’s able to come away with sacks as well. If he’s not able to secure the sack this young man is able to extend his arms to swat at the QBs are where he forces a fumble on more than one occasion from doing so. What stands out the most about this young man is his ability to close on the ball carrier whether that’s on an inside the tackle/outside the tackle run as well as if the QB is trying to escape the pocket. Mr. Dowell is there to make the play in each instance. Currently holds no offers, expect that to change sooner than later.
