The 15th brought through a lot of interesting prospects who are fits at all levels. When scouting prospects, it’s not just about evaluation it’s about projection. Sometimes it’s about what they are, but sometimes it’s about thinking outside of the box in order to find a player who may be under the radar. There’s no such better story for that then [player_tooltip player_id="284444" first="Buba" last="Bangura"], who leads off this article.
2023 Hybrid-LB [player_tooltip player_id="284444" first="Buba" last="Bangura"] (Westerville Central) 6’2 195- [player_tooltip player_id="284444" first="Buba" last="Bangura"] (pronounce Booh-buh Ban-gur-uh) is an interesting prospect that I came across this winter. Before Buba’s (pictured above) junior season he had never played organized football. To that point Basketball and Hockey were the sole focus of Bangura. He’s made a lot of progress in a small amount of time and seems to love the game of football. Buba has fluid hips and good footwork but is also sturdily built. This allows him to drop and cover, as well as come up and support in the run fit. I really could see Buba going anywhere from high D2 to D1 Mid major, depending on how he continues to learn the game of football and the tape he’s able to put out this fall.

2026 WR Sherone White Jr. (Pickerington Central) 5’8 145- Sherone is an explosive athlete. He is a fluid route runner who displays great bursts getting in and out of his breaks. He puts defensive backs in a bind by his ability to win deep when playing tight and his ability to break routes off when given space. White Jr. looks to be a big time playmaker too keep your eye on in the future!
2024 CB [player_tooltip player_id="284541" first="Ja’ontay" last="O’Bryant"] (Mansfield Senior) 6’0 150- Ja’ontay has good footwork and really loose hips. He’s able to turn and get depth in a hurry. I love his anticipation and ball skills. At this point he has a long and slender frame. O’bryant just needs to continue getting bigger and adding strength to add some physicality to his repertoire. With the continued growth and development he could really turn into a well rounded cornerback who could play in a man or zone scheme.

2024 OT [player_tooltip player_id="366882" first="Ahmaan" last="Thomas"] (Mansfield Senior) 6’4 270- Thomas is a thin, but athletic offensive linemen who shows good promise. He has good length and feet that help him get depth and win in his pass set. His areas of development are in his technique and adding weight/strength. I think Ahmaan has a lot of room to grow and develop and I can’t wait to see how he progresses in his junior season.
2024 DE [player_tooltip player_id="367131" first="Troy" last="Regovich"] (St. Ed’s) 6’5 250- Regovich was a consistent player on the 2021 Saint Ed’s state championship team. He’s stout against the run. In the pass game he plays with heavy hands and has a solid get-off. An area of improvement would be getting a little more bend and ability to win on the edge. I like Regovich as a strongside defensive end at the college level. I think Troy has Power 5 potential at the next level.

2024 OL [player_tooltip player_id="366901" first="Trevor" last="Dragon"] (Columbiana) 6’3 270- Trevor had a nice frame, played with good balance, and was hungry to get better each rep. He was very coachable. He absorbed the bull rush well. An area for development for Trevor would be continued work on his footwork. He has the footspeed to get the job done, it’s just a matter of placement and attention to detail. I think Trevor is a D3 caliber player with D2 potential.
