The Huskers had a busy weekend last weekend after hosting a Friday Night Lights camp, an Individual camp, and a 7v7 camp. These three camps brought a lot of talent from inside and outside the state to Lincoln to compete. For this feature I wanted to do a review of the different "Nebraska based" 7v7 teams. This includes school teams like Benson, Lincoln Southeast, Creighton Prep and 7v7 teams like NELITE 7v7 and the Lincoln Redwolves.
The first team up is the Omaha Benson 7v7 team. Led by Coach Abdul Muhammad, the Bunnies had a great day in which they were able to showcase their star power while also incorporating young and new members of the team. They also had one of their young stars receive their first Power 5 offer.

Hudl | Twitter

DaShawn was one of the biggest winners of the 7v7 camp. The incoming freshman capped off his day with an offer from the host Huskers.

Prince was an absolute menace in the endzone, he has the length and hops to outjump defenders. I don’t remember the exact number of touchdowns he caught but I would guess that he caught one in each game the Bunnies played.

Very mature route runner with elite hands.

Prince will only be a freshman when the 2022 season starts, but he’s already on a quick track to being an elite national 2026 recruit.

Jaylen impressed me in a lot of ways at the 7v7 camp, one of them was in his leadership skills. Despite being a transfer from Omaha Central, it looks like he’s very well acclimated with the Benson squad and is one of the main leaders on the team.

Jaylen has a big-time arm that is pretty accurate when pushing the ball downfield.

He was quick to progress through his reads.

A very instinctive player at LB/S, quick to sniff out plays.

[player_tooltip player_id="326866" first="DJ" last="Sterling"] (2024) | WR
Hudl | Twitter

DEEP sleeper in the 2024 class!

DJ can flat out play on either side of the ball. He can be lined up anywhere and is always near the ball on a big play.

Great hands and smooth route runner as a receiver. Has the speed to take the top off of a defense, great deep threat.

Instinctive, gritty, and fluid as a corner.

I’m a big fan of Sterling’s game and I think he will be a huge riser in his junior season.

[player_tooltip player_id="227533" first="Kayreese" last="Dial"] (2023) | DB/WR
Hudl | Twitter

Kayreese is a great athlete that can play both sides very well.

I especially like his potential at WR, he has great hands and has the size to match the physicality shown by defenders.

He made great plays all day highlighted by a catch-and-run touchdown shown in the tweet below and the toe-tap touchdown he scored in the picture below.

It seemed like he was always there when the Bunnies needed a big play.

[player_tooltip player_id="360234" first="Kenreese" last="Dial"] (2023) | DB/WR | 5’10" 170 lbs
Hudl | Twitter

Kenreese, like his brother Kayreese, is a great athlete that is an asset to the team on both offense and defense.

He has great hands and can track the ball in the air with the speed to get right under it.

On the flip side, I also like Kenreese’s potential on defense. Dial is quick to react and make plays on the ball.

He doesn’t shy away from physicality and can make catches through contact.

[player_tooltip player_id="330317" first="Brandon" last="Ashley"] (2023) | LB/S | 5’9" 185 lbs
Hudl | Twitter

Brandon is an underrated, versatile player that looks like he can be shifted to various positions on the defense.

He can cover the slot, play linebacker, and could also see time at safety.

Enforcer in the middle of the defense. That can close spaces quickly.

I’m curious to see how he is used offensively in 2022.
