Greater Cleveland Conference – Top 2023

Northeast Ohio is loaded with talent in the 2023 and 2024 classes like the rest of the state.  This series will focus on the league breakdowns for the 2023 class. <strong>Brunswick</strong> <strong>Branyan Nichols</strong>, RB - Branyan is a tremendous athlete and technically sound runner and blocker.  He is quickly climbing the recruiting boards in NE Ohio.  He runs behind his pads and had 1 cut ability with burst.  I am impressed with his ability to accelerate in the secondary and run away from defenders.  He does the little things well: blocking, catching, and making people miss.  He plays multiple sports and carries a 3.5 GPA. HUDL: <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/13117148/Branyan-Nichols">https://www.hudl.com/profile/13117148/Branyan-Nichols</a> <strong>Euclid</strong> <strong>Deonte Rucker</strong>, QB - Deonte is a very good QB from NE Ohio with great upside.  He has a very strong arm and can make all the throws.  He throws a tight spiral and can fit it in tight windows.  He has command of the offense and makes full field reads well.  He is a threat with his legs and can pull away in the open field.  He has good pocket presence and can evade the oncoming rush well.  He is climbing the charts in NE Ohio this offseason. HUDL: <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/12884310/Deonte-Rucker">https://www.hudl.com/profile/12884310/Deonte-Rucker</a> <strong>Mentor</strong> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="34500" first="Brenan" last="Vernon"]</strong>, DE - Brenan is our top ranked 2023 at PrepRedzone Ohio.  He is committed to ND.  You should get up to Mentor this season and watch him play.  He is tall and weighs in at 260 pounds.  He is a beast of and edge player.  He has great athletic ability, flexibility, and technique.  He is a very good block destroyer with great lockout and escape.  His pass rush is impressive and he comes around edge with great bend.  The most impressive part of his game is his high motor; he is always around the ball and closes with NFL like speed. HUDL: <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/9576930/Brenan-Vernon">https://www.hudl.com/profile/9576930/Brenan-Vernon</a> <strong>Medina</strong> <strong>Brennen Schramm</strong>, WR - Brennen is a great athlete and technically sound WR.  He runs really good routes and plays a variety of positions.  He is the kind of player you have to get the ball in his hands.  He attacks it in the air and wins the 50/50 balls.  He can get off of man coverage and sits well in zone.  He is a multiple sport athlete and great leader in his class. HUDL: <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/12804853/Brennen-Schramm">https://www.hudl.com/profile/12804853/Brennen-Schramm</a> <strong>Solon</strong> <strong>Joel Kpassou</strong>, Ath - Joel plays WR and CB and has multiple offers on the table.  He is one of the best athletes in NE Ohio.  He plays out of the slot and runs great routes in the seams.  He gets vertical quickly and open in the voids.  When the ball is in the air, he attacks it with his hands and his eyes.  He has great hips and wiggle in the open field.  He has great speed and is a threat every time he touches the ball to score.  At DB he has really good technique and can lock anyone down.  He will climb the ranks this camp season. HUDL: <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/13257703/Joel-Kpassou">https://www.hudl.com/profile/13257703/Joel-Kpassou</a> <strong>Strongsville</strong> <strong>Michael Novak</strong>, LB - Michael is a very good athlete with the size and speed to be a really good college player.  He has multiple offers on the table.  He reads plays well from the OLB position and moves with patience to the ball.  He is very tough and sets a good edge.  He gets to the gaps with speed and locks out quickly.  He is very good in pass coverage with great hip turn.  I am really impressed with his tackling ability.  Keep a good eye on him this offseason.
