This past Saturday, we headed out to Westmont for the Prep Redzone Illinois Showcase. The camp was filled with talent on both sides of the ball and featured a plethora of division one prospects from around the state. Here were my top performers on the offensive side of the ball from Saturday.

QB
[player_tooltip player_id="213819" first="Colton" last="Gumino"], 6’1", 170, York, SO
A poised quarterback prospect with excellent touch. Gumino throws well on the move and has enough athleticism to extend plays with his feet.
[player_tooltip player_id="267700" first="Christian" last="Evans"], 6’1", 170, Sandburg, SR
Evans can scoot, clocking the best forty-yard dash time amongst QB’s with a 4.66. He shows great ball placement as a vertical thrower and quiet feet in the pocket.
[player_tooltip player_id="136475" first="Mark" last="Mennecke"], 6’1", 175, Neuqua Valley, SR
A left-handed gunslinger with a compact release. Mark has the arm to fit the football into tight windows and the patience to let routes develop downfield.
[player_tooltip player_id="163030" first="Deuce" last="Allaway"], 5’9", 175, Bishop McNamara, SR (QB MVP)
Don’t let his size fool you; this kid is a gamer! Deuce dominated during the 1 on 1 portion of the event, consistently placing the football right on his target’s chest. He can get it done working inside the pocket or out and has a natural sync with any wideout he throws to.
[player_tooltip player_id="212320" first="Owen" last="Lansu"], 6’1", 160, 8th Grade
The only 8th grader at the event and man, did he flash. You can already see the god-given arm talent and athleticism as he broad jumped 9’1". Lansu reminds me so much of J.J. McCarthy and has that backyard football type of play that is so fun to watch on tape.
RB
[player_tooltip player_id="299628" first="Matt" last="Lawson"], 5’10", 185, Elgin, JR (RB MVP)
Lawson has some filthy shake in space and made some defenders look silly on Saturday. He caught the ball well out of the backfield and showed steady change of direction.
[player_tooltip player_id="252513" first="Noah" last="Battle"], 5’11", 180, Downers Grove North, JR
Battle tested well, clocking a 4.69 40-yard dash, along with back-to-back 4.44’s in the 5-10-5. He was impressive in his first season on varsity last fall and displayed excellent balance & body control in-person Saturday.
Christion [player_tooltip player_id="157735" first="Royce" last="Harper"], 6’2", 190, St. Teresa, SR
Royce-Harper had the top 40 time amongst running backs clocking a 4.62. He has good size, showed violent cutting ability, and was a matchup nightmare for LB’s in 1-on-1’s.
WR
[player_tooltip player_id="336214" first="Nico" last="Bertolino"], 5’9", 160, Belvidere North, JR
A sleeper in the 2024 class that went 4.62 in the 40-yard dash and had a 9’ broad jump. Nico casually works back to the football and will look it all the way into the tuck. He looked like a natural at WR, despite having played RB all of the 2021 season.
[player_tooltip player_id="299529" first="Omar" last="Coleman"], 5’7", 150, Plainfield North, SO (WR MVP)
I think I saw Coleman lose one rep the entire day during 1-on-1’s. He was dominant at the top of his route, spinning defenders like a top and easily tracked the football downfield. He should be electric on the field in 2022.
[player_tooltip player_id="300559" first="Mikey" last="Brosnan"], 6’2", 170, St. Patricks, SR
A filthy route runner with an abundance of press releases. Brosnan is as sure-handed as they come and a true competitor.
Kevin Jackson, 5’7", 135, Leo, SR
Jackson clocked a 4.58 in the 40 along with a 4.28 in the 5-10-5. This young man is so explosive downfield and can take the top off just about any defense.
[player_tooltip player_id="158042" first="Jaden" last="Bossie"], 5’10", 180, Mount Carmel, SR
The fastest man at the event, clocking a 4.51 in the 40-yard dash. Jaden was a natural working out of the slot and showed that he can slam on the breaks & sit with no wasted steps. He’s a playmaker with the ball in his hands and can turn a 5-yard route into a chunk play.
TE
[player_tooltip player_id="330456" first="Ryan" last="Mascari"], Neuqua Valley, 6’4", 220, SO
A deceptive route runner that can catch the football in traffic. Ryan does a good job using his body to create separation and could be a major redzone threat.
OL
[player_tooltip player_id="158772" first="Trenton" last="VanBoening"], 6’6", 300, Libertyville, SR
A consistent big man with refined technique. Trenton was quite patient against rushers during 1 on 1’s and had quality hand placement that gave defenders fits.
[player_tooltip player_id="299986" first="Blaine" last="Halley"], 6’6", 300, Olympia, SR
A smooth mover, equipped with great size. Halley is quick out of his stance and will dominate with his long arms & pure strength.
[player_tooltip player_id="315960" first="Tim" last="Savchuk"], 6’3", 270, Oswego East, JR
A physical prospect with quick feet and a nasty demeanor. Tim showed he can easily mirror rushers and has a clean vertical set.
[player_tooltip player_id="299447" first="Gabe" last="Rosen"], 6’6", 390, Evanston, SR (OL MVP)
A massive tackle who moves like a ballerina. Good luck defeating Mr. Rosen, once he gets his hands on you. He’s got solid twitch out of his stance and will rarely overset an opponent.
Tommy Johl, 6’3", 270, Mount Prospect, JR
Johl is a guard to me who showed some serious physicality his first season on varsity. He’s so fluid and will roll his hips once he makes contact with a defender like it’s second nature.
[player_tooltip player_id="254962" first="Henry" last="Warsaw"], 6’4", 260, Saint Charles North, SR
Another interior prospect who has heavy hands and good knee bend. Henry can redirect laterally and has superb body control.

Other Names That Stood Out
WR: [player_tooltip player_id="271845" first="Joe" last="Allen"], 6’2", 186, Rock Island, JR
WR: [player_tooltip player_id="259604" first="Dominic" last="Gradford"], 5’9", 150, TF North, JR
OL: [player_tooltip player_id="137911" first="Jack" last="Donovan"], 6’2", 260, St. Francis, JR
WR: [player_tooltip player_id="271724" first="Will" last="Roberts"] 6’1", 165, Hononegah, JR
