Yesterday, we kicked off the process of looking at some of the state’s most talented wideouts, in the Class of 2023, who are set to make their case for a higher position in the class rankings. Today, we continue with that process, breaking down the game of four more hungry prospects.

[player_tooltip player_id="185224" first="Colin" last="Yancey"] is a playmaker on the outside. Yancey is excellent at screen passes. With the ball in his hands on the edge, Yancey secures the catch and turns up field. When running his other routes, Yancey consistently creates separation from the cornerback. In other situations, Yancey does not get away from the defender, but that is because he is a good blocker, capable of opening up lanes for his teammates. During the 2021 season, Yancey recorded 74 receptions for 1,024 yards and an impressive average of 102.4 yards per game. Yancey caught ten touchdown passes. Yancey also proved himself to be an effective kickoff returner. He gained 199 yards on nine kickoff returns.

[player_tooltip player_id="185228" first="Evan" last="Dienhart"] finds all sorts of ways to create big plays for Lafayette Central Catholic. Offensively, Dienhart is a threat every time he has the ball in his hands. He does well with pop passes and gadget plays. On special teams, Dienhart is a return man who is capable of setting the offense up in good field position. Dienhart tallied 1,019 receiving yards on 65 receptions and nine touchdowns. He returned half-a-dozen kickoffs for 77 kickoff return yards and 17 punt returns for 243 punt return yards.

[player_tooltip player_id="325864" first="Leo" last="Collins"] is a dependable receiver who the quarterback can look to when a big completion is needed. During his junior season, Collins secured 56 catches for 539 yards. He had a very respectable 9.6 yards per reception. Collins caught six touchdown passes. [player_tooltip player_id="325864" first="Leo" last="Collins"] is a prospect who can provide a lot of assurance for an offensive coordinator.
[player_tooltip player_id="300110" first="Colton" last="Wilkie"], 6’3, 190 pounds, Pike
[player_tooltip player_id="300110" first="Colton" last="Wilkie"] is a versatile prospect who can do so many things for an offense. As a receiver, Wilkie caught 17 passes for 309 yards with a trio of touchdowns last year. Just like through the air, on the ground, Wilkie presents a plethora of problems for the opponent. He had 60 carries for 420 rushing yards and a pair of scores. Wilkie also attempted 14 passes, six of them were completions. [player_tooltip player_id="300110" first="Colton" last="Wilkie"] finds ways to keep the offense moving, making him a solid prospect.
