Tobias Mitchell (2023) | 6’2 234 OLB | Lakeview
Mitchell is one of the most talented defensive players in the state. At 6’2, 234 pounds, Mitchell has division 1 size and a good pass rush to go with it. The two-way starter for Lakeview, Mitchell’s athletic ability is on display on both sides of the ball. On offense, Mitchell saw time in the Lakeview full-house backfield. Incredibly physical at the point of attack, Tobias Mitchell has great instincts and a nose for the football. I would expect Mitchell to dominate the MAC-W division this Fall and look for Lakeview football to make a run at the playoffs in 2022.
Hunter Harding (2023) | 5’11 205 OLB | Brighton
Hunter starts at OLB for the Brighton Bulldogs, one of the largest high schools in the state. An extremely physical player who seeks out contact and makes plays. Harding shows good instincts and the ability to line up in multiple spots on the field. He has a good pass rush and is extremely physical at the point of attack. Look for Harding and Brighton football to make a deep run in the playoffs this Fall.
Dominick Calloway (2023) | 6’0 200 OLB | Trenton
Calloway played both ways with the majority of his junior year tape at OLB. His edge rush speed was on display throughout his junior season film. At 6’0, 200 pounds, Calloway is a versatile linebacker who has a good pass rush and good enough speed to allow him to line up in multiple positions on defense. Calloway dominated the Downriver Conference in his junior year and I would look for him and Trenton football to make a playoff run in 2022.
Cavanaugh Diton Cavanaugh Diton 6'0" | 220 lbs | LB Clarkston | 2023 MI (2023) 6’1 225 OLB | Clarkston
Diton is a good-sized football player with a nose for the ball carrier. playing linebacker for one of the best division 1 football programs in the state, Diton was able to put together a very productive junior season. At 6’1, 225 pounds, Diton is big enough to line up inside, outside, and off the edge. Very good against the run, Diton tackles well and is extremely physical at the point of attack. Look for Diton and Clarkston to make another deep run in the Division 1 playoffs this Fall.
Rob Harris (2023) 6’1 200 OLB | West Bloomfield
Harris starts at OLB for the Division 1 West Bloomfield Lakers. In his junior season, West Bloomfield played one of the toughest strengths of schedule in the state. Harris saw time on defense at OLB where he showed an ability to rush the passer and come off the edge. With good size and speed, Rob “Roc” Harris is a defensive player to watch in the 2022 season.
Joshua Beasley (2023) 5’11 180 OLB | Belleville
Beasley is more of a hybrid type OLB who can run and cover. This position has seen more and more popularity in recent years where you find a player who is slightly undersized to play linebacker but can tackle and play the run extremely well. I think Beasley could play any position on the defensive side of the ball if you asked him to. He does well in space and displays good instincts for the ball. Look for Beasley to make plays for the Belleville defense this Fall.
