These student athletes range across all of Illinois and across all levels (8A-1A). Without further ado, let’s dive into part six of our 23′ breakdowns.

Mr. Bertram is a lefty quarterback that showcases glimpses of his foot quicks to get through the line of scrimmage quickly breaking a long run on QB design runs as well as when he runs the option. In his highlights, he showcases glimpses of being able to get the ball out quickly in the quick game on slants and receiver screens. In the first clip in his highlights, he showcases a glimpse of standing strong in the pocket as there’s a defender in his face right as he gets the ball off before taking a hit. Upon doing so, he ends up delivering a level three throw to his receiver downfield which ends up being secured and ran into the endzone for a touchdown. This young man can get it done with his legs as well showcasing his mobility and being a threat to the opposing defense. There’s a clip in his highlights where he pulls the ball down to scramble for a touchdown and another clip where it’s a QB design run following his blockers through the hole. There’s also another clip in his highlights where it’s a QB design run and he uses his foot quicks to get through the hole before weaving in/out of defenders on the second level breaking a long run. Mr. Howard works as a defensive tackle out of a 4-3 defense lining up as a 1 tech and 3 tech. He has a burst off the ball which he uses to jolt the offensive lineman or shoot the gap before the offensive lineman is set to block, both of which results in him generating penetration on the play. In the first clip in his highlights, we get an insight into his quick first step off the ball. Here, he gets out of his stance quickly and uses a swim move at the point of attack to get past the offensive lineman. This generates penetration on the play as he gets through into the backfield and secures the tackle for loss. When the run is going away from him, he can take the blocker head on before disengaging to take backside pursuit flat down the line of scrimmage securing the tackle for no gain. When the run is coming at him, there’s a clip in his highlights where he’s able to jolt the offensive lineman upright at the point of attack before freeing himself up to secure the tackle at the line of scrimmage for no gain. This provides an insight into his ability to get through into the backfield off penetration and can close on the ball carrier to secure the tackle for loss. This is seen throughout his highlights and showcases insight into this young man being a reliable two gap defender. On passing downs, there’s a clip in his highlights where he gets to the A gap before the offensive lineman is set to block generating pressure on the quarterback. Upon doing so, this young man gets his hands up to clog the passing lane in the endzone resulting in an incompletion. Mr. Hunter is an offensive lineman that provides an insight into his foot quicks to get out of his stance and into blocking position quickly in his highlights. The first clip of his highlights provides an insight into him jolting the defensive lineman at the point of attack and driving the defender back on a drive block in the redzone creating a running lane for his teammate. Upon doing so, his teammate follows the block and gets into the endzone for the touchdown. There’s another clip in his highlights blocking in line where he does the same thing and finishes the play by pancaking the defender downfield. When he’s blocking in line, he can get out of his stance and use his initial punch to gain inside hand placement. From there, he can keep his feet driving and drive the defender 5+ yards downfield. There’s also a clip in his highlights where he’s blocking in open space. Here, he reach blocks on outside zone as he works laterally and is able to latch onto the outside linebacker through the whistle. This young man finishes plays as he looks for work through the whistle showcasing his attacking playstyle and he provides an insight into being able to drive the defender down the line of scrimmage resulting in him washing the defender down. He provides an insight into his strength to jolt the defender upright when he punches aggressively as well as his ability to sustain blocks in the run game after locking onto the defender. In the second clip of his highlights, he’s able to get through the line of scrimmage to deliver a blow on the linebacker and stay over feet to maintain his block before he finishes the play by pancaking the linebacker downfield. There’s another clip in his highlights where he’s pulling and is able to get out of his stance to make the kickout block on the defensive end opening up a running lane off his block. Mr. Jackson is a high potential running back that has a combination of balance, agility, and strength which allows him to run through weak tackles to gain yards after contact. There’s a clip in his highlights where he uses his foot quicks to get through the line of scrimmage and finishes the play by lowering his shoulder running over the defender to get into the endzone for the touchdown. In another clip, the front side running lane is clogged up so he uses a quick cut to hit the cutback lane. Once he does, he uses his foot quicks to gain a step advantage on the second level defenders before lowering his shoulder to play through contact. He’s quick to hit the running lanes once they open and up runs with good pad level to run through defenders as he delivers a heavy blow on the head up tackler. This provides an insight into his aggressiveness and his ability to gain yards after contact. In the first clip of his highlights, he uses his foot quicks to get through the line of scrimmage on outside zone and blows by the second level defenders before taking a big hit from two defenders downfield. Instead of being brought down, this young man is able to stay up bouncing off those hits and gets into the endzone for a touchdown. He’s also used in the air attack on swing routes coming out of the backfield. There’s a clip in his highlight where he does just that and upon securing the catch he uses a spin move to make the first defender miss before using his foot quicks to get vertical quickly. Upon doing so, he then weaves in/out of defenders in open space getting inside the five yard line before being brought down. Currently holds no offers. Highlights

Mr. May Jr is a receiver that can work both on the outside as well as out of the slot. His highlights kickoff with him in KOR where he secures the kickoff and uses his foot quicks to get vertical quickly. Upon doing so, he then weaves in/out of defenders getting into the endzone for a touchdown. There’s a clip in his highlights where he runs a double move on the outside and goes up for the 50/50 ball by attacking the ball at the highest point to secure the contested catch. In another clip, he’s split out wide running a fade route and is able to adjust last second to the ball as he secures the catch over the defender. Both of these clips provide an insight into his ability to adjust and make tough catches. This young man understands spacing as well. Here, he can find the soft spot in zone coverage and once he does he’ll sit to become an outlet for his quarterback to keep the chains moving. There’s a clip in his highlights where he’s working out of the slot bending his route outward before cutting it in towards the middle of the field. By doing so, he’s able to gain a step on the outside linebacker that’s covering him securing the catch between that defender and the safety over the top. When he’s going against off coverage, he provides an insight into being able to close the cushion on the defender by utilizing his foot quicks. This is seen in his highlights where he runs a backside post and ends up stacking the defender to secure the contested catch downfield. There are other clips in his highlights where he uses his foot quicks to win over the top when he runs fly routes out of the slot as well as posts and post corner routes – all of which he ends up providing further insight into his ability to win over the top against off coverage. In the run game, this young man has a clip in his highlights where he’s able to latch onto the outside linebacker and maintain his block through the whistle on outside zone as he ties the defender up eliminating the defender from the play. Mr. Anderson is a defensive end that could work out of a 3-4 or 4-3 defense as a 7 tech. In the first clip in his highlights, he uses his quick first step to get on top of the offensive lineman before they’re set to block and gets to the turn point before the offensive lineman as he turns the corner. This results in him delivering a blow on the quarterback forcing a fumble. When he’s coming off the edge and turns the corner he can close quickly on the quarterback to secure the sack. He provides an insight into his ability to dip his shoulder and turn the corner which generates pressure on the quarterback. Upon doing so, this also provides an insight into his initial quickness and active hands to bat the offensive lineman’s hands down at the point of attack as he turns the corner. When the run is coming at him, there’s a clip in his highlights where he takes the run block head on and is able to split the double team to free himself up securing the tackle for loss on the play. In another clip, he provides insight into being able to jolt the pulling offensive lineman before freeing himself up to secure the tackle at the line of scrimmage for no gain. This young man also doesn’t give up on plays and will take pursuit. This is seen in a clip in his highlights where the pass gets completed on the perimeter so this young man takes backside pursuit to secure the tackle downfield. Currently holds no offers. Highlights

Mr. Meehan is an offensive lineman that showcases the foot quicks and flexibility to slide out quickly to the corner cutting off the edge rusher while maintaining a good base/leverage. In the second clip of his highlights, he provides insight into driving the defender down the line of scrimmage washing the defender down creating a running lane for the ball carrier off his block as he blocks in line. There’s another clip in his highlights when he’s blocking in line as he’s able to jolt the defender upright on a drive block and get hands inside while keeping his feet driving. In this clip, the play ends with this young man pancaking the defender. He’s a strong and physical run blocker at the point of attack as he provides an insight into his strong initial punch on the defender. Upon doing so, he can jolt the defender gaining inside hand placement and can then control the rep from there. In the first clip of his highlights, he gets quick out of his stance getting through the line of scrimmage the second level where he stays over feet to maintain his block eliminating the linebacker from the play. There’s another clip in his highlights where he doubles with the offensive guard washing the defensive lineman down before working up to the second level to pick up the linebacker on the play. In pass protection, there’s a clip in his highlight where he maintains his base/leverage by keeping his feet moving at the point of attack. This all happens by using his foot quicks to get out of his stance and get set to block quickly as he anchors to mirror the rushing defensive end. Upon doing so, this results in this young man typing up the rushing defender and eliminating the defender from the play to keep the pocket clean for his quarterback. There’s another clip in his highlights where he’s able to keep his feet moving after the initial slide to redirect and slide back towards the B gap taking away the inside pass rush from the defender. This results in the defensive end being washes down to keep the pocket clean. This young man has the foot quicks to get out of his stance and into blocking position quickly as well as being able to pick up the edge rusher. He flashes hands in pass protection by getting hands on the rushing defender quickly between the defender’s shoulder to tie up and eliminate the defender from the play. This young man also provides insight into being able to jolt the defender upright when he punches aggressively – both in pass protection and in run blocking. Currently holds no offers. Highlights
Jerome Jackson Jerome Jackson 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR Monmouth-Roseville | 2023 State IL
Mr. Jackson is a receiver that can work on the outside as well as out of the slot. In the first clip of his highlights, he uses his foot quicks to stack the defender winning over the top on the fly route and once he secures the catch he gets vertical into the endzone for the touchdown. When he’s going up against off coverage, there’s a clip in his highlights where he takes the free release when running a fly route out of the slot. Here, he’s able to secure the catch in the soft spot in zone coverage downfield and gets into the endzone hanging onto the ball as he takes a hit last second. There’s a clip in his highlights where he’s going up against press coverage and he uses his quick feet to gain the step advantage before stacking the defender. Upon doing so, he then is able to secure the catch in the middle of the field and is able to showcase his elusiveness by using a spin to make two defenders miss before getting vertical. This results in a touchdown on the play. There’s another clip in his highlights where he runs a jet sweep and is able to turn the corner. Once he does, it looks like he’s going to get brought down but he keeps his feet driving running through weak arm tackles and gets free. Upon doing so, he’s able to break a long run and gets into the endzone for a touchdown. Currently holds no offers. Highlights
