Some of the best players in the area were at the event and it was difficult to get a good look at every player. Here are the linebackers who stood out to me.
Levi Sua Levi Sua 6'2" | 225 lbs | LB Mater Dei | 2023 State CA , Mater Dei – Sua is the number 2 ranked linebacker in the state according to Prep Redzone and he was clearly the best linebacker of the camp Sunday. He moves so well laterally and can cover more of the field than a lot of inside linebackers. He is better with pads on because he stops the run so well, but he looked comfortable in the one-on-one period covering running backs in pass coverage. He really understands football and can adapt very well to any situation. He visited Stanford the day before and landed at 2 in the morning the day of the camp. He is going to visit Alabama and LSU this coming weekend.
Mater Dei c/o 2023 linebacker Leviticus Su’a was named linebacker MVP at the UA Next Camp Series. Flew in from visiting Stanford at 2am this morning. @PrepRedzoneCA @ocvarsity @ocvarsityguy @_leviticussua_ @MDFootball pic.twitter.com/by57zmqWAt

Victory Johnson Victory Johnson 6'4" | 230 lbs | LB Cathedral Catholic | 2023 State CA , Cathedral Catholic – Johnson is lengthy at 6-foot-4 and like Sua he moved very well laterally. He is smart in pass coverage and knows how to use his body to get deflections without drawing penalties. He was one of the top linebackers in the agility and individual drills and it translated to the pass coverage. Arizona, USC, Utah and Washington are standing out to him right now and he wants to commit the summer before his senior season and graduate early.
Dylan Williams Dylan Williams 6'3" | 205 lbs | LB Long Beach Poly | 2024 State CA , Long Beach Poly – As far as pure athleticism goes, Williams was the most athletic linebacker at the camp in my opinion. He is physical and aggressive. He is better in pads because he plays downhill and his run stopping ability is off the charts. He is between 6-foot-2 and 6-foot-3 and has long arms. USC offered him in late January and he was drawing a lot of attention from the USC reporters at the camp.
Shakir Collins Shakir Collins 6'2" | 220 lbs | LB Adelanto | 2024 State CA , Riverside Prep – Collins plays bigger than his 6-foot-2, 210 pound frame and he has big and strong looking legs. He was able to keep up with most the running backs in pass coverage and looked good in the individual drills. He got good reviews at the Rivals Camp recently and scouts at the camp Sunday were talking about him on the sidelines. Collins took an unofficial visit to USC on Saturday.

Luke Ferrelli, Carlsbad – Ferrelli really impressed me and some of the coaches during the one-on-one pass coverage drills against the running backs. He was constantly in the hip pocket of the running backs on the deep routes and was able to close to the ball quickly on shorter routes. He has fast feet and the running backs really struggled to get open against him. He wasn’t the biggest name at the camp, but he was able to hang with the big names and it was impressive.
