Silent Recruiting Hotbeds: Deuel Cardinals

I have been doing work around the Deuel School District area for a couple years and have kept up with the talent on the football team. The Cardinal football has produced some college level players, most recently, former Jackrabbit DB <strong>Lance Eide,</strong> followed by his younger brother, now Dakota Wesleyan LB <strong>Layton Eide.</strong> Last year, Eide and fellow teammates <strong>Carter Hoffman, </strong>now a powerlifter at Morningside, and <strong>Tanner Preheim</strong> also cracked the Prep Redzone rankings in the inaugural year in the Dakotas. Some other notable college athletes from past years are; <strong>Preston Homan</strong> (Morningside Basketball), <strong>Morgan Vande</strong> <strong>Brake </strong>(Dakota State), and <strong>Logan Visser</strong> (Northern State). This year, Deuel jumped from 9-man to 11-man and competed really well competing in their first year. However, the injury bug bit the Cardinals last year, many starters were lost for the season, some early in the season. Many of the young players received a lot of playing time this year, which will play huge for the whole team in the near future. With that being said a lot of players were able to put some film together and should be able to get noticed in the bear future as well.
