Top Performers

Offensive MVPs

The All-Ohio Showcase in Austintown was a great show of veterans and young talent. Some very bright athletes stood out and gave us glimpses of what to expect this fall. Check out some of the players at the top in their position groups. Here are the offensive MVPs of the Showcase. I also want to shout out to Austintown Fitch head coach T.J Parker for doing a fantastic job hosting the event.

[player_tooltip player_id="92624" first="Bryson" last="Hammer"] c/o 2023 - Fremont Ross

5’11 165 lbs
WR - MVP
Notes:
Hammer has been flying under the radar, but it gets harder to ignore his talent over time. The smooth route runner from Fremont Ross showed off his footwork and quickness during the agility station and dominated during the 1v1s. The MVP award at WR was almost unanimous in favor of Bryson; it was evident that he has been working on his craft. Having a QB like [player_tooltip player_id="92620" first="Kaden" last="Holmes"] will make it easier to get noticed this fall. Hammer has All-State talent and will play college football at the next level. I believe Bryson can earn a G5 offer this summer/fall.

QB - MVP
Notes:
Jeremy came out and proved that playing off the shores of Lake Erie has its benefits when you can sling it in the wind as he did. It was a tough day for most of the QBs as they tried to push the ball down the field in sideways winds up to 12 miles per hour. What did stand out was Dizk’s ability to put zip on the football, along with excellent placement. Jeremy received high praises from the private QB coach and guest Jim Ballard, Mount Union 1992 National Champion and D3 player of the year. Leadership and football skills were evident at the showcase, and after watching the film, you can believe Dzik will have a big year in 2022.

Notes:

Williams is a guy who loves the game of football. DJ has an increased his speed this off-season and was one of the fastest campers. DJ was full of energy and was excited to compete in every drill I saw him in. In 2021, Williams had to step in and take more reps at RB due to injuries, and he showed that he could help Fitch backfield as they will have a legit 1- 2 punch, Williams and James. With varsity experience and a great start to his offseason, you can expect to hear more about DJ over the next couple of seasons. DJ is Explosive has the size and will be a good RB to follow closely.

Mason Pawlowski c/o 2023 - Jefferson

6’1 240 lbs

OL - MVP

Notes:

Jefferson’s quick and tough interior lineman was all about business at the showcase. Mason stood out in position drills with his quickness, technique, and bending ability. Pawlowski undoubtedly put his "PAWS" on guys during the one-on-one session as not many defenders beat him. His footwork and leverage were some of the other key factors and why he walked away with the OL MVP. Mason is a scrappy football player and someone we will not keep an eye on; heck, Jefferson high school, in general, had some intriguing players in attendance. I will continue to follow Mason and give updates throughout the year.
