With 24 Quarterbacks in the Prep Redzone rankings for the Class of 2023, it is easy to see that there is a lot of talent at the Quarterback position in this class. Here are five very talented Quarterbacks looking to have an awesome Senior season this fall. [player_tooltip player_id="34497" first="Jacob" last="Winters"], 6’2, 215, Jackson [player_tooltip player_id="34497" first="Jacob" last="Winters"] is the #1 ranked QB and the 13th ranked player overall in the class of 2023. His great play as a Junior in 2021, helped lead the Jackson Ironmen to an 11-1 record and average 40.25 points per game. He possesses a quick release and completes passes to all areas of the field with good arm strength, accuracy and touch. He shows good elusiveness in the pocket as he makes LB and DL miss and is able to deliver an accurate ball while on the move. He shows very good mobility as he demonstrates the ability to pick up significant yardage on his own for a 1st down or score on a long touchdown run. [player_tooltip player_id="274364" first="Drew" last="Novak"], 6’5, 180, Western Brown [player_tooltip player_id="274364" first="Drew" last="Novak"] is the #2 ranked QB and the 23rd ranked player overall in the class of 2023. His outstanding play as a Junior in 2021 helped the Western Brown to an 11-3 record, average 50 points per game and advance to the 4th round of the playoffs. He sees the entire field well as he makes multiple reads. He displays good accuracy as he places the ball in a spot where only the receiver can catch it and can throw receivers open. He shows good arm strength as he is able to pass the ball over 40 yards on a rope. He demonstrates very good poise as he steps up in the pocket to complete the pass with a defender in his face. [player_tooltip player_id="126480" first="Blake" last="Lichtenberg"], 6’1, 185, St. John’s Jesuit [player_tooltip player_id="126480" first="Blake" last="Lichtenberg"] is the 3rd ranked QB and the 25th ranked player overall in the class of 2023. His very good play as a Junior in 2021 helped the St. John’s Jesuit Titans to 6 wins and advance to the 2nd round of the playoffs. He is a very accurate quarterback as he delivers short, intermediate and deep passes with pinpoint accuracy. He shows good athleticism and play speed as he is able to pick up big yardage on his own and can avoid athletic defenders while in the secondary. He shows very good competitive toughness as he is able to make big plays at the end of the game and on 4th down. [player_tooltip player_id="159933" first="Bryce" last="Schondelmyer"], 6’2, 190, Arcanum [player_tooltip player_id="159933" first="Bryce" last="Schondelmyer"] is the 4th ranked QB and the 26th ranked player overall in the class of 2023. His awesome play as a Junior in 2021 helped the Arcanum Trojans to an 8-3 record and average 38.9 points per game. He shows good footwork in the pocket, quickly finds the open receiver and displays good arm strength as he passes the ball 50 yards with ease. He displays good accuracy as he places the ball on the correct shoulder of the receiver maximizing yards after the catch. He is a good athlete as he uses his good athletic ability and play speed in the secondary to outrun all defenders for a long touchdown run. [player_tooltip player_id="274379" first="Broc" last="Lowry"], 6’2, 205, Canfield [player_tooltip player_id="274379" first="Broc" last="Lowry"] is the 5th ranked QB and the 27th ranked player overall in the class of 2023. His great play as a Junior in 2021 helped the Canfield Cardinals to an 11-2 record, average 29.6 points per game and advance to the 3rd round of the playoffs. He shows very good football intelligence as he reads the defense and finds the open receiver. He delivers a very accurate ball to all three levels of the field with good arm strength. He displays good poise in the pocket as he steps up when the pocket collapses and delivers an accurate pass. On QB draw plays, he uses his very good play speed and athleticism to outrun defenders for a long touchdown run.
