There is talent being produced from every divisional class and each class should be equally respected. Today, we are going to highlight 1 talented player that will continue to play football in each divisional class starting at A and ending at 6A.
1A: Blake Birchfield, RB | 6-0, 175lbs. Class of 2023 | Pikeville High School
The junior had a record-breaking 2021 season as not only did he break a school record for rushing yards, but led the entire state of Kentucky for rushing yards as well. Blakes’s acceleration once getting into the open field is incredible to watch, which leads to plenty of extra rushing yards after the snap. Along with that, Blake can break out of a bunch of tackles to gather at least a couple more yards for carrying. Especially in the redzone, Blake’s desire to get that ball into the endzone can be seen with his unwillingness to be tackled down short of the endzone. This kid has a bright future ahead of him and would not be surprised if he continues to lead the state in rushing again this fall.
2A: Parker Chaney, ATH | 6-0, 180lbs. Class of 2024 | Lexington Christian Academy
If there were to be one player that could produce talent playing on both sides of the field, we would think of Parker Chaney. Parker has a raw talent of being able to use his athleticism to intercept passes from the opposing quarterback and to receive passes from his quarterback. What is jaw-dropping about Chaney’s playstyle is his field vision. Chaney can predict where the ball is going to be thrown quickly and can also determine what angle to catch the ball when receiving at a bad angle. Parker will continue to improve his game and still be an elite threat on both sides of the field.
3A: Easton Jessie, QB | 6-1, 165lbs. Class of 2025 | Glasgow High School
Easton’s throws are on the money on every single passing attempt. The freshman’s accuracy is mesmerizing as he is placing it in the perfect spot for the receiver to catch no matter how much space he is given. Along with that, Easton can run with the ball and be able to gain extra yards on the run if needing to improvise. Despite only being a freshman, Easton is already an elite dual-threat quarterback who can be an annoyance for opposing nickel backs when he is throwing dimes to his receivers every time on the field.
4A: Dakota Patterson Dakota Patterson 6'4" | 205 lbs | WR Boyle County | 2023 KY , WR | 6-3, 190lbs. Class of 2023 | Corbin High School
Dakota is athletically gifted at the wide receiver position. Not only does he possess a tall frame for a wide receiver, but he is quick off his feet and can juke past a defender instantaneously. One factor that plays a role in all wide receivers is their ability to catch the ball properly. When watching Dakota play, it makes it hard to believe he is not using gloves laced up with glue. The junior can catch any ball thrown his way no matter how accurate the throw is.
5A: Isaiah Kenny, SS | 5-11, 178lbs. Class of 2023 | Fredrick Douglass High School
Isaiah is a work of art at the Strong Safety position. The junior has flawless field vision and can pickpocket throws that come his way. Another valuable trait in Kenny’s game is his ability to hit opposing ball-carriers hard and force plenty of fumbles when tackling with such strength and speed. What is unique about Isaiah Kenny is that he plays the game with lots of heart and emotion. Although many players in this list possess that similar trait, Kenny sets that trait to another level as can be seen on the field. His energy and drive helps push him to be a star on the defensive side of the ball.
6A: Decker Renfrow Decker Renfrow ATH Daviess County | 2023 State KY , WR | 6-0, 160lbs. Class of 2023 | Daviess County High School
Decker is a menace when placed in a 1v1 matchup with an opposing Nickelback. Decker recently posted a 4.49 40yd dash and that startling number alone depicts the outcome. The junior from Daviess County can blow past defenders with his speed and agility to make the long reception. Along with that, Renfrow possesses fantastic footwork which can especially be seen when catching throws near the sideline. It is startling how teams still put up the 1v1 matchup against this kid even though the same outcome is a loss for the Nickelback with his stellar speed.
