Over the weekend the South Jersey Future Showcase took place at the Marlton Field House and over 80 middle school athletes came out to compete. The athletes, in the classes of 2026, 2027 and 2028 were put through combine testing in addition to competing in one-on-one drills. There were a number of media outlets there, in addition to some very talented coaches from throughout southern New Jersey.
Here’s a look at the non-eighth grade standouts from the showcase.

Very well put together athlete that has yet another year to dominate the youth football scene before heading to high school. A native of Camden, Nelso already has a few of the premier private schools in the area interested in his services. A shorter back, he has a thick lower half and powerful legs that helped him move. Surprisingly fluid for an athlete with his build.
<strong><img class="alignleft wp-image-288707 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/02/IsaacParra-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />Isaac Parra | New Jersey | Athlete | 2027</strong>
Certainly not the biggest prospect in the world at this point, but Parra showed some very intriguing speed at the showcase. Did a nice job of dropping his hips and changing direction during the L drill and shuttle. Also showed some springy legs during the broad jump.
<strong><img class="alignleft wp-image-288708 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/02/JoJoDeLecce-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />[player_tooltip player_id="216150" first="Jojo" last="DeLecce"] | New Jersey | Linebacker | 2027</strong>
DeLecce will be an interesting prospect to watch develop during his eighth grade football season. There's no question that his strength is a big plus. He's a tough kid that also wrestlers and works hard in the weight room. Was pretty impressive in the broad jump, showing off that power. Needs to work on overall speed and loosening up his hips to maximize what he brings athletically.
<strong><img class="alignleft wp-image-288714 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/02/JaysonNitz-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />[player_tooltip player_id="216110" first="Jayson" last="Nitz"] | New Jersey | Athlete | 2027</strong>
Labeled an athlete because I'm not sure where he projects as he continues his football journey. Offensively he plays quarterback and looks to have a lot of the pieces necessary to be successful at this position. However, defensively is where I think he has the most potential. Took a lot of reps at defensive end and showed out with quickness. Long term, I think he has the athleticism to move to linebacker. Certainly a prospect to watch.
<strong><img class="alignleft wp-image-288704 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/02/NosymBrown-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />Nosym Brown | New Jersey | Athlete | 2028</strong>
Was absolutely shocked to find out he was only in the sixth grade. Very explosive athlete who tested very well during the combine portion of the event. Looked to be in the 5-foot-8 range but with good muscle already. Really liked what I saw in terms of how he moved and how he competed. Offensively is a good receiver, but really shined as a DB. Played last season for the Brick City Lions. He was the top 2028 prospect there by a wide margin.
