Plain and simple, I looked at which quarterbacks from around Ohio could make a big impression in 2022. These guys definitely demonstrated some promise during the 2021 season, but I think they're ready to take it to the next level this fall. With that being said, here's who you need to know!

[player_tooltip player_id="152367" first="Tyler" last="Tusai"], 6’4", 215, Padua Franciscan, 2024
Outstanding footwork in the pocket with plenty of improvisational skills. Tyler throws well on the run and has plenty of arm strength to challenge safeties vertically downfield. He uses his eyes as a weapon and will look off opposing defensive backs. His deep ball has plenty of air under it and will allow his target to run right underneath it.

[player_tooltip player_id="126481" first="Tywaun" last="Clark"], 6’1", 185, Toledo Central Catholic, 2023
Clark is the perfect fit for a wide-open pass-happy spread attack. His timing is impeccable and forces his opponents to get to the quarterback quickly. He's quite athletic and can step up & make plays with his feet if everything is covered downfield. He has fine touch in the redzone and will place the ball where his man or no man can get it.

[player_tooltip player_id="173935" first="Braden" last="Mantooth"], 6’5", 195, Pickerington Central, 2023
A lengthy pro-style quarterback that terrorizes the intermediate level of the field. Braden has plenty of velocity behind his throws and can place the football inside the holes of zone coverage. He's deceptive off play-action, allowing his receiving threats to sneak behind coverage and will effortlessly hit them in stride. Don't underestimate his athleticism as a runner, as this long strider can make defenses pay on designed quarterback runs.

Ethan Grunkemyer, 6'2", 175, Olentangy, 2024
This young man is fearless with a free rusher bearing down and will use a quick operation time to get the ball out of his hand. He's composed in the pocket and can buy more time by simply shuffling vertically or laterally with his eyes searching for a potential target. Throwing a field out is no issue and he'll put the ball right on his wideouts numbers. Ethan is a fine thrower off-platform that shows solid accuracy when under duress.

[player_tooltip player_id="159933" first="Bryce" last="Schondelmyer"], 6’2", 195, Arcanum, 2023
Bryce put up some gaudy numbers in 2021 and could easily best those stats this coming fall. On tape, he shows plenty of arm strength, consistently uncorking the long ball and dropping it right into the breadbasket. He's proven that he can work all three parts of the field and will make you pay if you tip your coverage too early. He can be a huge asset on downhill runs in short-yardage or "and goal" situations.
