The Prep RedZone Next class of 2026 Watch List Vol. 2 was recently released. This is a list of prospects, not yet in high school, that look to project to play at the FBS/FCS/Division 2 levels in the future.
By no means is this list a sure thing, finalized or complete. It will be updated twice more before the end of August 2022. Again, these are <strong>not</strong> rankings nor are they an end-all, be-all lists. These are the prospects that I have seen, that stand out to me.
Below, we’ll take a look at class of 2026 Alabama prospects, labeled as defensive prospects, that are currently on the Watch List.

Disruptive interior lineman that often required a double team during his eighth grade season. Won lineman of the year at Wetumpka Middle School. At 5-foot-11 and 253 pounds he is quick off the ball and already has a number of pass rush moves in his arsenal. Sheds blocks with relative ease and does a great job of feeling what the offensive line is doing and recognizes different blocking schemes.

Big, wide body in the interior defensive line that clogged up both A-gaps with ease. Listed at 6-foot-1 and 285 pounds, he was a load for smaller offensive linemen to attempt to drive off the line of scrimmage. Played at Anniston Middle School this past year.
<strong><img class="alignleft wp-image-254208 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/12/Silhouette-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />[player_tooltip player_id="283572" first="Musa" last="Ali"] | Defensive Line</strong>
Promising edge player who is extremely raw at the position. Right now just a big body that gets by with natural athleticism and length at 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds. Will be at Pike Road High School for next season.
<strong><img class="alignleft wp-image-262187 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/01/NyzarCampbell-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />[player_tooltip player_id="283574" first="Nyzar" last="Campbell"] | Linebacker</strong>
Fast, aggressive linebacker that plays with bad intentions on every snap. He's a step faster than everyone else on the field and gets to the football quickly. Plays downhill at all times and has the range to make plays from sideline-to-sideline. Also a standout on offense as a running back. He's just a natural athlete that can take over a game at any instant. Arguably the best player in Mobile in 2026.

<strong><img class="alignleft wp-image-262182 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/01/Takaree-Slaughter-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />[player_tooltip player_id="283576" first="Takaree" last="Slaughter"] | Linebacker</strong>
An agile linebacker who's probably just as good as a running back. At 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds he's a throwback type of player that will come down hill and pop ball carriers. Has elite agility at this point and can get around most would-be blockers. Named a two-time Metro South Player of the Year during his middle school career at Clay-Chalkville.

<strong><img class="alignleft wp-image-262186 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/01/TristanLyles-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />[player_tooltip player_id="212200" first="Tristan" last="Lyles"] | Defensive Line</strong>
Yet another talented prospect headed towards Central High School in Phenix, Alabama. Lyles is the ideal edge rusher that is somewhere between a defensive end and outside linebacker. He plays with a very high motor and makes plays on the opposite side of the center, in the backfield. Understands when to crash and when to make offenses guy linear. Stands 6-foot, 211 pounds. Tremendous upside.
