Marcus Brown Marcus Brown 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Brother Rice | 2024 IL Twitter
Mr. Brown is a name that I’ve had on my radar for some time now and showcases glimpses of what’s to come in the future during his Sophomore Season on JV. This young man showed glimpses of his ability of avoiding sacks and making big plays when he pulls the ball down to scramble. We also got an insight into his quick feet which help him set up and get rid of the ball as well as being able to slide quickly to avoid sacks to buy 2nd chances. This is seen on the first play of his highlights where he avoids the sack then delivers a strike into the endzone for the touchdown right before taking a hit from the defender. He showcased glimpses of dropping the ball into the receiver’s hands on deep shots downfield and being able to put the ball in catchable spots for his receivers when working on the move out of platform. What I beleive is going to be his biggest trait to keep an eye on moving forward as he heads to Varsity is his ability to create 2nd chances – both on the run as well as when working on the move. On JV, he showcased his mobility by running the option and being able to pull the ball down to scramble if need be. If the pocket collapses, he gives an insight into his ability to avoid and get outside the pocket where he showcased accurate throws on the move with his upper/lower half working in unison. If nothing is open downfield, he has the foot quicks and playing speed to pull the ball down to scramble for the first down as showcased on JV this past season. This young man is set up to make his mark on Varsity in the fall. Keep an eye on how he develops during this full off season as he can potentially become a name on the rise. Currently holds no offers. Highlights
Ryan Jackson Ryan Jackson 5'10" | 180 lbs | QB Lyons Township | 2024 IL Twitter
Mr. Jackson is a name I had on my radar heading into this fall season and one that ended up being pulled up to Varsity towards the end of the season (weeks 6 through 10) where showcased what he can do. When he gets flushed out of the pocket/working out of platform, he showcased the ability to stay under control to make strong accurate throws on the move. This gives us an insight into his ability to make throws in tight windows when off balance on the move. This is seen in his film where he’s able to deliver an off balance level 1 throw to his receiver between two defenders to keep the chains moving after he escapes the collapsed pocket. He’s effective in throwing intermediate and underneath routes, he’s able to make deep shots downfield as well. In terms of deep shots downfield, I would like to see him leading the receiver better to avoid allowing the defender to make a play on the ball – nevertheless, still gives his receiver a chance to go up for those 50/50 balls on deep shots downfield (trait to keep an eye on moving forward). We get glimpses of his accuracy when on the move working out of platform where he can put the ball in catchable spots for his receivers. This young man is mobile where he showcases his legs by running the option as well as being able to pull the ball down to scramble. He can avoid sacks and get outside the pocket where he can make accurate throws on the move while working out of platform with his upper/lower half working in unison. If nothing is open downfield, he has the foot quicks and playing speed to pull the ball down to scramble for the first down. This young man works out of platform on the move quite frequently on rollouts which gives him more time to survey the field and puts him in open space giving him the ability to make a play with either his arm or his legs. A dual threat QB to keep an eye on moving forward. Currently holds no offers. Highlights
Jett Hilding Jett Hilding 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB St. Rita | 2024 State IL Twitter
Mr. Hilding is a name that came onto my radar heading into this past fall season and he made his mark while playing on JV. He showcased glimpses of his ability to avoid sacks and can break big runs when scrambling on the JV level. He also showcased the ability to slide quickly to avoid sacks to buy 2nd chances, this is seen throughout his film where he’ll evade defensive linemen that are within arms reach of him. There’s one clip specifically that stands out where he spins out of the pressure and is able to find his man downfield to keep the chains moving. Again, this was at the JV level but it’s still impressive and a trait to keep an eye on moving forward. This young man also showcased glimpses of his foot quicks, agility, and balance to avoid pressure to re-set before getting rid of the ball to his man downfield. Switching gears to his delivery, at times it does seem as if it takes some time to wind up before getting the ball off which seems to have to deal more with him second guessing himself over a mechanical issue. That being said, he did showcase glimpses of being able to get the ball out quickly at times as well which is a trait to keep an eye on moving forward. . When on the move working out of platform, we got glimpses of his accuracy as he can put the ball in catchable spots for his receiver. This is seen with the glimpses he showcased of making all level throws (level 1, level 2, and level 3) which is something to keep an eye on moving forward. If nothing is open downfield he can pull the ball down to scramble as a last resort. He can buy 2nd chances by avoiding the sack and getting outside the pocket where he showcased his ability to make throws on the move out of platform with his upper/lower half working in unison. This young man also showcased his foot quickly and playing speed to pull the ball down to scramble for the first down as well. Again, this analysis is taken off of his JV Highlights and we still need to see how his skill set will transition onto the Varsity level. Currently holds no offers. Highlights
Ryan Boe Ryan Boe 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Batavia | 2024 State IL Twitter
Mr. Boe is a name that came onto my radar in the middle of the fall season and one that got his feet wet on Varsity showcasing what he can do. His ability to avoid sacks and make big plays with the ball when stepping up in the pocket to deliver a strike downfield is one to keep an eye on moving forward. Just look at the first play of his highlight. He uses his quick feet to set up and get rid of the ball, this is also seen when he slides to avoid sacks and buy 2nd chances. This young man also has some mobility to him where he runs the option and has the feet quicks to scramble for the first down. He has a solid foundation of adding easy velocity across all level throws (level 1, level 2, and level 3) which is one to keep an eye on moving forward as he continues to develop. His delivery/release is compact and he showcased glimpses of being able to drive off his back foot to get rid of the ball quickly. The biggest trait to keep an eye on for this young man is his ability to consistently put balls in catchable spots for his receivers as we got glimpses of this during his Sophomore season both when working in platform and out of platform on the move. When he runs RPOs, he can get the ball out quickly as well. He can slide to avoid sacks and buy 2nd chances which is seen when he steps up in the pocket to deliver a strike downfield keeping the chains moving. This young man doesn’t panic in the pocket, he can stand strong to get the ball off while the pocket is collapsing and gets the ball off right before he takes a hit from the defender. A young prospect with a solid overall foundation and a high ceiling heading into his Junior Season Campaign. Currently holds no offers. Highlights
Drew Gallagher Drew Gallagher 6'1" | 170 lbs | QB Lockport | 2024 IL Twitter
Mr. Gallagher is a newer name to me this fall season and one that took his Sophomore snaps on JV. He showcased glimpses of his quick feet which he uses to set up and get rid of the ball, this is also seen when he slides to avoid sacks and buy 2nd chances. He’s mobile where he runs the option and has the feet quicks to scramble for the first down on JV. We get an insight into his compact delivery/release as well as glimpses of him being able to drive off his back foot to get rid of the ball quickly. If the pocket collapses, this young man showcased the ability to avoid the sack and get outside the pocket where he can make accurate throws on the move out of platform with his upper/lower half working in unison. If he decides to stay in the pocket as it’s starting to collapse, he can stand strong to get the ball off and gets the ball off right before taking a hit from the defender. There’s a clip in his highlights where he evades not one, not two, but three defenders before getting the ball off before taking a hit for the completion in the redzone. Again, this analysis is all from his JV highlights and we have yet to see how his skill set is going to transition to the next level. What I’m most interested in seeing is how his ability to buy 2nd chances are going to translate against Varsity competition. Currently holds no offers. Highlights
Max Bray Max Bray QB Aurora Christian | 2024 IL Twitter
Mr. Bray is a newer name to me this fall season and one that didn’t come onto my radar until after the fall season. He played his Sophomore year on Varsity and showcased his quick feet on quick drops where he can set up and get rid of the ball quickly. This young man uses his quick feet to scramble for the first down which is seen on the first play on his highlights where he looks like he’s going to get stopped on the perimeter but he keeps his feet driving to break a tackle and break a long run as a result. We got a glimpse of his ability to add easy velocity across all level throws (level 1, level 2, and level 3). He also showcased the ability to fit the ball between the corner and safety coming over from a 2 Deep look into the hole after his receiver stacks the corner. His quick compact release/delivery is one to keep an eye on moving forward as he can drive off his back foot and gets rid of the ball quickly on quick hitting passes. When he has space in the pocket, he can stride into throws. This young man gives us an insight into his ability to put the ball in catchable spots for his receiver both when working in platform and out of platform on the move. When he’s running QB design runs, he has the vision to find running lanes quickly between the tackles and has the ability to break long runs as well showcasing his dual threat abilities. This young man also has a solid pocket presence which is one to keep an eye on as he’s not afraid to stay in the pocket where he finds his man downfield. Has room to develop and hone his craft further, has a solid foundation heading into this full off season. Currently holds no offers. Highlights
Diego Gutierrez Diego Gutierrez 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Riverside Brookfield | 2024 IL Twitter
Mr. Gutierrez is a name that’s been on my radar for some time and one that took his Sophomore snaps on Varsity this past fall season. He showcased his quick feet on quick drops and uses this to set up to get rid of the ball quickly as well as use his quick feet to scramble for the first down as a last resort. He can also slide quickly to avoid sacks and buy 2nd chances. This young man currently has a solid touch on level three throws when taking shots downfield and can add zip to the ball when working both in platform and out of platform on the move. This young man also gives an insight into his ability to put the ball into catchable spots for the receiver when working both in platform and out of platform on the move. He can avoid the sack and get outside th pocket where he delivers accurate throws on the move working out of platform with his upper/lower half working in unison. At the beginning of his film, he buys a 2nd chance by sliding to avoid multiple sacks as the pocket collapses showcasing his elusiveness making defenders miss as he weaves in and out of them at the line of scrimmage. Upon doing so, he escapes the pocket and keeps his eyes downfield to find an outlet for net positive gain on the play. He can also stand strong in the pocket to get the ball off while the pocket collapses and can get the ball off right before taking a hit from the defender. This young man has a solid foundation, keep an eye on how he develops during this off season as he looks to make his mark during his Junior Season Campaign. Currently holds no offers. Highlights
Cole Crafton Cole Crafton 6'3" | 210 lbs | QB Lincoln Way West | 2024 State IL Twitter

He has quick feet on quick drops where he can set up and get rid of the ball quickly. He also showcased glimpses of being able to slide to avoid sacks and buy 2nd chances. He can add a solid touch on level three throws on deep shots downfield and showcased glimpses of being able to add easy velocity across all level throws (level 1, level 2, and level 3). There’s a play in his highlights where he’s in the redzone and lofts the ball just over the defender for his receiver to come away with the touchdown in the back of the endzone. He gave us an insight into his compact delivery/release and showcased glimpses of being able to drive off his back foot to get rid of the ball quickly in the quick game.
