Continue ReadingThe first active month of recruiting has come to a close and the state of Tennessee was a hot spot for college coaches as tons of offers went out to prospects throughout the month of January.
Here we look at the hottest names right now and the guys who have picked up major steam on the recruiting trail.
1. (QB) Brock Glenn Brock Glenn 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Lausanne | 2023 State TN – Lausanne
– Glenn is by far the hottest quarterback recruit in this state at the moment and I don’t see the offers stopping anytime soon. Collegiate coaches are starting to fall in love with Glenn and his upside on the next level and I completely understand why. The Lynx quarterback sports good size, arm strength and smooth mechanics that coaches enjoy working with. This month alone, Glenn has picked up offers from Cincinnati, Duke, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan St. and Missouri with several others close to offering themselves. This spike in recruiting should definitely up the stock for Glenn with national media and continue pushing his name out there for other college football programs to jump on board as well.
Blessed and Thankful to receive an offer from The University of Illinois! All Glory to God!@IlliniFootball @BarryLunneyJr @BretBielema @LausanneFB pic.twitter.com/xDkzbagRmp

2. (TE)
Ben Marshall

– The word has finally gotten out about this Murfreesboro area pass catcher and I don’t foresee his recruitment to slow down anytime soon. Marshall is a natural receiver from the tight end position that sports strong upside and the ability to be used in multiple slots on offense. College coaches have come on board with his athleticism and upside for the next level as Marshall has now become a wanted man on the recruiting trail. During this month, this Blaze tight end has added offers from Arkansas St., Coastal Carolina, Fla International, Indiana, Liberty, N.C. State and Vanderbilt. The offers won’t stop coming either as Marshall has several other Power Five and Division 1 programs interested with his abilities.
3. (T/G) Joe Crocker Joe Crocker 6'6" | 310 lbs | OL FRA | 2023 State TN – FRA
– The O-line class here in-state is the strongest it has ever been and Crocker is considered one of the best but after this month of recruiting, his stock has soared! Crocker is a big dude that has improved his lower body agility and slimmed up a tad bit, which has now made him more explosive and appealing to collegiate coaches. The month of January was quite active for Crocker as he saw new offers come in from Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Florida St., Indiana, Maryland, Purdue and Wisconsin. Don’t expect to see the offers slow down either as some of the best programs in the country are starting to dive deeper into the Middle Tennessee product.
4. (T/G) Ayden Bussell Ayden Bussell 6'5" | 290 lbs | OL Mt. Juliet | 2023 State TN – Mt. Juliet
– Close behind Crocker as the hottest offensive lineman right now is Bussell and this is a guy that is picking up heavy steam on the recruiting trail as a prospect who’s best football is certainly ahead of him. A burly, physical mauler, Bussell is well put together and has the versatility to man several positions across the offensive line. He is also an ultimate worker with high character, so he brings a lot of traits to the table that appeal to college coaches. Over the past month, Bussell has added new offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Indiana, Memphis and Ole Miss. Look for Bussell to continue adding new offers next month and into the summer, especially as more coaches dive deeper into this Mt. Juliet offensive lineman.

5. (LB)
Caleb Herring

– Riverdale
– The #1 prospect for the in-state 2023 class is Herring and this month of January finally saw his recruitment take an uptick and I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon. Herring screams potential and upside and a prospect who could become dominant over time. He is tall, long and extremely quick off the edge but he is still developing and adding weight to his frame, so work is there to be done. College coaches love this guy and you can see why. Herring is a beautiful looking specimen that could develop into a Top 100 national prospect. This month with offers, Herring has added new ones from Arkansas St., Arizona St., Buffalo, Cincinnati, Indiana, Memphis and Penn St. with several other big named schools hot on his trail.
