5 2022 QBs that have yet to annouce their commitment:
[player_tooltip player_id="147508" first="Noah" last="Walters"] | Lincoln East | 6’1’ 190 lbs Hudl | Twitter Noah, our 2021 All-State First Team selection, completely lit up the field during his senior season. He ended the season as the Class A record holder for most single-season passing yards and several school passing records. On the year, he threw for 3,402 yards and 44 touchdowns while shredding some of the toughest defenses in Class A. Walters is as good of a pocket-passing accurate QB as you will get in this class. Noah is very calm in the pocket and lets his reads progress, or he can roll out and buy time on his feet. Walters’ arm talent is exceptional, as he can make every throw on the field and knows how to adjust to deliver as catchable a ball as possible. He has a great understanding of defenses and how to take advantage of gaps in coverage, looking even sharper in this aspect this year than in Walters’ junior year. Noah has shown time and time again his desire to compete, will to win, and the ceiling to be a top QB talent. [player_tooltip player_id="163780" first="Brodey" last="Johnson"] | North Bend Central | 6’2" 200 lbs Hudl | Twitter QB2 on our 2022 rankings, [player_tooltip player_id="163780" first="Brodey" last="Johnson"] is another QB surprisingly still available. Johnson followed up a breakout junior season with an even better senior year. Johnson threw for 1,877 yards, 22 touchdowns, added 253 rushing yards, and a rushing touchdown. Brodey is a very hard worker that has been tireless in his grind to continue improving as a player. Johnson has a big, sturdy frame and a cannon for an arm. Johnson is a great passer that knows how to deliver the ball with high efficiency and accuracy. One of Brodey’s best skills is his ball placement and ability to deliver the ball on a rope. He is making 40-50 yard passes look routine (3:06 & 4:28 marks in the clip below) and is completing these passes at a high rate. Also worth noting is that Brodey ranked near the top for average yards per punt, showing that he has a big boot to match his arm. The scary part is Johnson is only starting to scratch the surface of his potential and will continue to improve as he gains more experience. [player_tooltip player_id="171365" first="Cole" last="Murray"] | Waverly | 6’2" 180 lbs Hudl | Twitter A big, strong, athletic QB like [player_tooltip player_id="171365" first="Cole" last="Murray"] is someone that should be receiving more looks. Murray is one of the more athletic QBs in the 2022 class, producing not just on the gridiron but also on the basketball court. When Murray is on the football field, he is a dangerous playmaker with his arm or legs on the ground. In 9 games, Murray passed for 880 yards, 13 touchdowns, and added 458 rushing yards with 9 touchdowns. He is a very tough and competitive player who elevates his teammates' play and refuses to go down without a fight. He will take a lick in the pocket if it means the ball was released at the perfect time, or he will lower his shoulder on a defender to fight for extra yardage on the ground. On top of being a great QB, Murray also played safety for the Vikings, where his QB knowledge translated well to defense and saw him do a solid job as a deep field protector. All around, Cole is a gamer that finds ways to will himself and his teammates to win. [player_tooltip player_id="193819" first="Nick" last="Chanez"] | Papillion-La Vista | 6’1" 200 lbs Hudl | Twitter Papio Papio’s [player_tooltip player_id="193819" first="Nick" last="Chanez"] is a QB that showed many flashes of the great dual-threat QB that he can be. He posted 1,641 passing yards and threw for 16 touchdowns while running for 167 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. Chanez is a very exciting player with the ball in his hands. He is a quick thinker that can react to what the defense gives him, by either throwing or making defenders miss with his legs. Nick has good arm strength and can add zip to the ball on all passes short, intermediate, or deep. One thing about Chanez is that he is very sneaky shifty and tough to bring down, when combined with his creativeness on the field, he is very tough to contain. One of the plays that best exemplifies the type of player Chanez is, is the first play of his Norfolk game tape. After a RB fumble and self recovery, he pitches the ball back to Chanez, who runs through a slew of defenders, juking and shifting his way to a 53-yard rushing touchdown. When the going gets tough, [player_tooltip player_id="193819" first="Nick" last="Chanez"] gets GOING! [player_tooltip player_id="274252" first="Jordan" last="Williams"] | Omaha North | 6’4" 175 lbs Hudl | Twitter With all the noise Omaha North made, it seems like QB [player_tooltip player_id="274252" first="Jordan" last="Williams"] is still overlooked despite having himself a strong, productive season. Williams threw for 1,460 passing yards and 17 touchdowns to five interceptions in his first year, starting under center. Jordan is a tall, strong-armed QB that stands tall in the pocket and surveys the entire field before gashing defenses with one passes. He has a good sense of the timing of the play and can anticipate when and where to place the ball. Williams can deliver the ball with perfect touch, or he can shoot a rocket, either way, making sure it’s only where his receiver can get it. Another impressive aspect of Williams’ game is his poise and calmness in sticky situations. As the season wore on and playoff chances looked grim, Williams and crew were able to rally to secure a playoff seed. I watched the Vikings play Fremont, in which North was letting the game slip away. This seemed to light a fire in Williams and he was able to use his chemistry with his receivers to pull off the comeback. I knew I was watching something special.
