The win gave Bixby their 49th consecutive victory, setting the state’s 11-man record for longest winning streak. It was also their fourth consecutive state championship and seventh in the last eight seasons. They’re also the first 11-man program to finish a season unbeaten in three straight seasons. The Spartans will move up to 6A-1 next season and now the rest of 6A-2 teams rejoice heading into 2022. This eight year run for the Spartans is easily one of the best dynasty runs in Oklahoma high school football history. The Spartans wasted no time jumping up on Deer Creek on Thursday night. They forced a three and out on Deer Creek’s first possession and then Bixby running back [player_tooltip player_id="38679" first="Braylin" last="Presley"] took a hand off and threw it to Preston Solomon for a 76 yard touchdown on their first offensive play of the game. After Deer Creek would throw an interception on their next possession to linebacker Beau Bertelli, the Spartans would then score on [player_tooltip player_id="38679" first="Braylin" last="Presley"]’s 3 yard touchdown to go up 14-0. That touchdown would be the 100th career touchdown for Presley and he wasn’t finished. Later in the first half, Presley would score from 11 yards out and then broke off a 94-yard touchdown with 38 seconds left in the second quarter to become the school’s all time leading rusher. The Spartans also scored in the second quarter on a [player_tooltip player_id="193013" first="Christian" last="Burke"] touchdown pass to Preston Solomon. The Spartans would take a 35-0 lead into halftime. The Spartans opened the second half with much of the same as [player_tooltip player_id="197183" first="Connor" last="Kirby"] found Preston Solomon on a 35-yard touchdown which would give the senior wideout three touchdown catches. Deer Creek would get on the scoreboard as [player_tooltip player_id="223037" first="Bryson" last="Rouse"] would pick off Burke and return it for Deer Creek’s first touchdown of the game. Rouse would also later score on a short touchdown run early in the fourth quarter. The Spartans would keep the scoring going following the pick six with a lengthy drive featuring plenty of third and fourth down conversions and it ended on a 5-yard touchdown run from [player_tooltip player_id="157509" first="Jersey" last="Robb"]. And then the defense got involved as [player_tooltip player_id="98179" first="Jakeb" last="Snyder"] would pick off Pense and go 39-yards for a pick six late in the third quarter. The final Bixby touchdown came from senior running back Zach Blankenship, who scored from 16 yards out. Bixby would close out another perfect season at 13-0 and leave a legacy that will be remembered for a long time. But now the Spartans move on to their next challenge and that comes next year as they move up to 6A-1.

BIXBY (13-0)

14

21

21

7

63

DEER CREEK (10-3)

0

0

7

7

14

TURNING POINT You could essentially pick any of Bixby’s touchdowns early on in the game, like their first offensive play of the game but we’ll go a little deeper into the first half. Bixby really put the nail in the coffin when Deer Creek got a first down for the first time and then threw an interception on the next play to Fugate. Bixby would then score on the Burke touchdown pass to Solomon with 2:26 left in the second quarter to go up 28-0. It might have been over before that but this was the final nail in the Deer Creek coffin. QUOTABLE Bixby Running Back [player_tooltip player_id="38679" first="Braylin" last="Presley"] On His Legacy. "It means everything. I moved here in seventh grade. I've come to love this community, they mean everything to me. They've done so much for me and not just me but for my family as well. Just to get this championship, not for me but for this community. It's a great feeling for my heart." Stay Tuned To Prep Redzone Oklahoma For More On The 6A-2 State Championship Game!
