The Class 3A state championship is set for 1PM on December 3rd at UCO. It’ll be a rematch of last year’s state championship game as top-ranked Lincoln Christian takes on defending champ Holland Hall. Prep Redzone Oklahoma will have the most in-depth championship preview and state title game content that you will find anywhere!. In this post, we take a look at the players to watch for defending champ Holland Hall as they take on Lincoln Christian.
[player_tooltip player_id="61135" first="Ethan" last="Roush"] - 2022 Quarterback/Defensive Back
Holland Hall senior standout [player_tooltip player_id="61135" first="Ethan" last="Roush"] would have been on this list regardless as a wide receiver and a defensive back but after the injury to sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="110743" first="Kordell" last="Gouldsby"], Roush has had to step into that role and keep the Dutch offense rolling. You can’t suggest it’s slowed down as they’ve put up monster numbers over the last four weeks, including jumping out to a fast start against Verdigris in the semifinals. Roush is mainly a threat to run the football but he has proven that he can throw the ball a little bit and more importantly, he has some really good weapons at wide receiver to get the ball to.
[player_tooltip player_id="61125" first="NuNu" last="Campbell"] - 2022 Wide Receiver/Defensive Back
Here’s a player we’ve been talking about since the end of his sophomore season. Senior [player_tooltip player_id="61125" first="NuNu" last="Campbell"], a Tulsa commit is an outstanding prospect at the cornerback position and he also helps out the Dutch offense at wide receiver. But when it comes to his future, there is no doubt that he’ll be on defense because he’s one of the best cornerbacks in the state right now. He will be so important on Friday afternoon going up against a Lincoln Christian offense that can absolutely light teams up in the passing game. However, Campbell and the Dutch defense were successful shutting them down in the title game a year ago.
[player_tooltip player_id="38787" first="Parker" last="Jenney"] - 2023 Linebacker
We’re calling our shot right now. Buy stock now on Holland Hall junior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id="38787" first="Parker" last="Jenney"] because we believe he could be an Owen Ostroski-like player for the Dutch next year as a senior. Jenney already looks the part right now and leads the team in sacks. With a strong offseason, this junior prospect is going to absolutely blow up. But for now, Jenney’s only focus is slowing down Lincoln star QB [player_tooltip player_id="52787" first="Max" last="Brown"] in the title game. Nobody has been able to contain Brown this season and now the Dutch, who have one of the best defenses in the state, will get their shot at containing the Central Michigan commit.
[player_tooltip player_id="38774" first="Zane" last="Woodham"] - 2022 Running Back/Linebacker
Nobody should be surprised by the season that senior running back and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id="38774" first="Zane" last="Woodham"] is having for the Dutch. He was that guy last season during their championship run but maybe didn’t get as many headlines because of the senior standouts a year ago. However, if you watched Woodham in person as a junior, you knew that he would be coming back for more this season and that’s exactly how the season has played out. Woodham has been one of the best two-way players in the state and has been incredible at the running back position. The 1-2 punch of Roush and Woodham in the backfield will be a problem for Lincoln Christian.
