Javen Jacobs Javen Jacobs 5'10" | 185 lbs | ATH Saguaro | 2022 State AZ , ATH, Saguaro ’22
Jacobs got a chance to show how dynamic of a player he is, as he made a significant impact on the ground, as a receiver, through the air, and was also a solid KR for Saguaro. He is a flat out playmaker with the ball in his hands. Jacobs possesses solid top end speed and is explosive out of his cuts while showcasing good COD, twitch, and burst all night. Dangerous in space as he possesses excellent vision with the ability to make a cluster of opponents miss in a split second. He totaled 2 TD’s on the night, which included about a 27 yard run where did a great job sticking a foot in the ground and getting vertical, and the other on a double pass where he hit Junis Marsh in the back of the endzone for six.
Deric English Deric English 6'4" | 210 lbs | WR Saguaro | 2023 State AZ , WR, Saguaro ’23
Before a 1st quarter injury took English out the game, he had already racked up 4 receptions for 70 yards and was on pace for a breakout first game (due to the transfer rule). He did a great job generating separation by taking a proper outside release off of man-press with good physicality and route integrity, as he did a terrific job getting himself stacked over the top of CB’s and flashed excellent body control to snag 2 balls on vertical routes. He does a great job adjusting to the ball in the air and tracks the ball in well, as he is a well polished pass catcher.
Terrell Cooks Terrell Cooks 5'9" | 160 lbs | RB Sierra Canyon | 2024 State CA , ATH, Sierra Canyon ’24
The sophomore was impressive as he possesses solid twitch, COD, and flashed a bit of his speed and proved he can be dangerous in space. He accounted for Sierra Canyon’s longest play of the night on a 38 yard run, where he weaved his way through opponents flashing his ability to make opponents miss, reversing field to pick up 38. Cooks is a promising young prospect for Sierra Canyon with good potential going forward, as we should start to see him build on his 6 offers fairly soon.
Ridge Docekal Ridge Docekal 6'3" | 210 lbs | QB Saguaro | 2022 State AZ , QB, Saguaro ’22
Although his stat line isn’t eye popping at 9-13 for 114 yards, Docekal delivered throws with excellent timing, placement, and touch along with being a clear leader on Friday night. He did a great job making decisive reads and got the ball out quick to his playmakers in space when he needed to. Docekal showed excellent maturity to take care of the ball throughout the night, and understands game flow very well, as he did his part to help Saguaro come out with the W.
Jason Jones Jason Jones 5'9" | 175 lbs | RB Sierra Canyon | 2022 State CA , RB, Sierra Canyon ’22
Jones punched in Sierra Canyon’s only TD of the night, as his stat line totaled 12 carries for 41 yards and a TD. Jones flashed solid vision and balance with the ability to identify and slip through narrow spaces. Jones remains Sierra Canyon’s leading rusher thus far with 504 yards and 4 TD’s.
Jojo Clark Jojo Clark 5'11" | 195 lbs | ATH Saguaro | 2024 State AZ , ATH, Saguaro ’24
Clark was able to punch in his only carry of the game from 8 yards out in a wildcat formation. He hit the hole hard with a good pad level and was able to rack up his 4th TD of the season.
