As opposed to traditional game reporting, I will break down this star-studded game by each side of the ball, highlighting prospects who produced or excelled in their roles.
Upper Dublin
Nyfise McIntyre | 5’10, 180 | RB/ATH | 2023
Chris Kohlbrenner | 5’10, 163 | DB/WR | 2024
Kyree Butler | 6’1, 295 | DL/OL | 2023
Colin O’Sullivan Colin O’Sullivan 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Upper Dublin | 2023 State PA | 6’0, 173 | QB | 2023
Nicolas Rodriguez | 5’9, 185 | LB/ATH | 2022
Connor Devitt | 6’6, 310 | OL/DL | 2022
Noah Lee | WR/DB | 2022
Griffin Pensabene | 6’1, 190 | WR/LB | 2023
Multiple prospects stood out to me in what was a game that was pretty much out of reach by halftime. Upper Dublin would close out this game with most of their starters on the sideline in what would be a 38-0 win on the road. My primary reason for coming out to attend was to see junior quarterback Colin O’Sullivan Colin O’Sullivan 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Upper Dublin | 2023 State PA perform under the lights. I ended up enjoying the performances of multiple Upper Dublin kids as well. All of the players listed above I was at least somewhat familiar with prior to the game. That wasn’t the case for junior running back Nyfise McIntyre. A completely new name now under my radar, McIntyre was sharp in his cuts and chose his holes decisively. He was absolutely carving the Truman defense. When UD wasn’t attacking through the air, they deployed this kid to balance their attack. Physical, great north-south vision. I loved what I saw out of 21. Two players who were productive in the trenches, Butler and Devitt. They both are giant interior players who were somehow bigger in person than on film. Truman had trouble consistently stopping these two in the trenches.
The main takeaway on the evening was Quarterback Colin O’Sullivan Colin O’Sullivan 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Upper Dublin | 2023 State PA ’s complete command of the offense. I have seen plenty of supreme athleticism out of QBs in person. Plenty of live cannons, elite size. What impresses me more than anything is a young quarterback who can lead his offense in his sleep. That’s what I saw out of the junior. I saw calmness pre-snap. I saw poise post-snap. I saw a player who was comfortable in the pocket as well as comfortable when he had to move his launch point. He was decisive in his targets. I was mightily impressed with his play. Found out after the game that UD is 100% comfortable with O’Sullivan audibling pre-snap. That kind of freedom afforded to the junior is something you don’t see often. It’s something I will mention to recruits in the future. His mobility was note-worthy as well, his arm is what UD wins with, but he can move and make plays with his feet.
My eyes will be peeled for Pensabene and Kohlbrenner moving forward, they and Noah Lee will be the primary recipients for O’Sullivan, so I expect big numbers this Fall. Both players carry completely opposite builds. Kohlbrenner, carrying a smaller more compact build that allows him to absorb hits with ease, while Pensabene was looked like one of the more chiseled-out players on the field. Great height/weight combination. Both were productive on the night.
Harry S. Truman
Terrell Delp Terrell Delp 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Harry S. Truman | 2022 State PA | 6’3, 200 | QB | 2022
Makai Jackson Makai Jackson 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Harry S. Truman | 2022 State PA | 6’0, 185 | WR/DB | 2022
Rondell Bradley | 5’11 | ATH | 2023
It’s important to get your boots on the ground and attend games in person. Yes, this was a 38-0 blowout by UD, but players still stood out to me on Truman’s side. Delp struggled to connect with on many of his throws. The Truman O-line had their work cut out for them, as a result, Delp was on the move constantly. It wasn’t the best night, one thing I took away from his play, however, was his ability to launch the ball with ease deep into the game, despite being hit on multiple occasions, as well as with the temperature dropping throughout the night. He’s got a lively arm and can heave the ball 50+ yards with ease. Makai Jackson Makai Jackson 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Harry S. Truman | 2022 State PA is the highest-ranked player in this game. He was kept in check all night as well, the collective struggle made it difficult for Makai to make an impact.
Big shout out to junior athlete Rondell Bradley, who made sure his efforts would be noticed. He was special in the open field. Multiple kick-returns were brought out 30+ yards because of his open-field agility. #5 was the lone producer on the Truman offense. They made sure to align him in multiple areas to make sure UD couldn’t get a definitive read on his intentions. Screen game behind the LOS, handoffs at RB, reps at wideout. You name it, Bradley was there. I came away impressed with his effort and overall athleticism and versatility on offense.
