<span style="font-weight: 400;">The week started off with the Stebbins Indians traveling to meet the Fairborn Skyhawks. The Indians were looking to get back into the win column after a two-week losing streak( one game was a forfeit due to Covid protocols) and the other was a drubbing by Tipp 50-14. Stebbins did just that by handing Fairborn its the seventh straight loss to start the season. The Indians didn’t take long to get the ball rolling as Adrian Norton caught a 57-yard bomb from [player_tooltip player_id="123813" first="Nate" last="Keller"] a little less than two minutes into the game. Fairborn would fight back, gaining a few first downs but would ultimately be forced to punt. Stebbins would then drive and score on a 15-yard pass from Keller to </span><b>Rayvonn Harris-Belle</b><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Stebbins would go on to score the remaining 24 points.</span><b> Adrian Norton WR 6’1 190 lbs. ℅ 23. </b><span style="font-weight: 400;">had an outstanding game, finishing with 4 catches for 108 yards and 2 Touchdowns. He also had an amazing 71-yard punt return! </span><b>[player_tooltip player_id="123813" first="Nate" last="Keller"] QB 6’0 180 lbs. ℅ 22. </b><span style="font-weight: 400;">Completed 9 of 16 passes for 157 yards 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. </span><b>Omar Holloway 6’1</b> <b>RB 195 lbs. ℅ 22.</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Registered 101 yards rushing on 15 attempts(averaged 6.7 yards per carry) and 1 touchdown. </span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">The Vandalia Butler Aviators visited the Xenia Buccaneers in what turned out to be a great game but a twenty-seven-point first quarter by Xenia would prove to be too much for the Aviators to overcome as </span><b>Xenia prevailed 40-34.</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> To start the game off, </span><b>[player_tooltip player_id="189553" first="Tremell" last="Wright"] 5’11 175 lbs. ℅ 23. </b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> caught a 38-yard touchdown pass from </span><b>Gavin McManus QB 5’10 170 lbs. ℅ 25. </b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Then on the ensuing possession, </span><b>Trenton Lee 5’10 l60 lbs. ℅ 24.</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> would take an interception 48 yards for a score. The onslaught of mistakes would continue for Vandalia on the very next possession,</span><b> Connor Miller DB 6’0 160 lbs.℅ 22. </b><span style="font-weight: 400;">Xenia recovered a fumble and returned it 18 yards for a touchdown. Xenia would add another score to end the first quarter up 27-0. The Aviators would fight back in the second to make the score 33-14 at the half. Butler </span><b>RB D’Marcus McKinney 5’9 180 lbs. ℅ 22. </b><span style="font-weight: 400;">Broke Out in this game, rushing for 172 yards on 11 attempts! (averaging 15.6 yards per carry ) and he found the endzone a total of 3 times. Also, </span><b>Luke Mitchell WR 6’0 180 lbs ℅ 22 </b><span style="font-weight: 400;">caught 6 passes for 79 yards. </span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">The next matchup was an important game for positioning in the Miami Valley League as the Tipp City Red Devils(6-0 in the Miami Division) and 6-1 overall hosted the Troy Trojans(3-3 in the Miami) 3-4 overall. Tipp did exactly what it planned to do, which was set up a Championship showdown at Piqua on the 8th of October. From the outset, Tipp controlled the action jumping out to a 17-0 lead at the half. In the third quarter, The Red Devils scored again to make the score 24-0 heading into the final quarter. Troy did manage to score a pair of touchdowns and 2pt. Conversions late in the fourth quarter to make the final 31-16. </span><b>The standout for Tipp City</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> was:: </span><b>RB/LB Cayd Everhart 5’11 183 lbs. ℅ 22.</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Rushed for 190 yards on 30 attempts(average of 6.3 yards per carry) and 2 touchdowns. Cayd also contributed defensively with 6 Solo Tackles.</span><b> For the Trojans: WR/DB Jack Kleinhenz 6’2 180 lbs. ℅ 22.</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Continues to impress with speed and Route Running ability. He caught 5 passes for 107 yards and 1 Touchdown. </span><b>RB/LB Jahari Ward 5’11 200 lbs. ℅ 24.</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Rushed 11 times for 44 yards and 1 Touchdown. Ward Size, Speed combo is impressive and he’ll only get better with experience. </span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Piqua traveled to Greenville and absolutely dominated the Green Wave 49-0 last Friday. It has been a season for the ages for the Piqua Indians. Continuing to lead the way was </span><b>Jasiah Medley RB/SAF 6’0 185 lbs. ℅ 22.</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> He got the scoring started with a 41-yard touchdown run midway through the first quarter. Piqua would continue to press the gas in the second quarter scoring 28 points. </span><b>Tanner Kemp OLB/RB 6’1 184 lbs. ℅ 22.</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Plunged in from the 1-yard line capping a long Piqua drive. Then, </span><b>Dre’sean Roberts WR/DB 6’2 172 lbs. ℅ 23</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> turned in the longest play of the night, catching a pass and motoring 66 yards for a score. Finally, with a little less than a minute till the half </span><b>Jasiah Medley</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> took a swing pass 33 yards for a score.</span><b> Medley </b><span style="font-weight: 400;">then ended his rushing night early in the third quarter with a 48-yard touchdown run. He would finish with 121 yards rushing on only 7 attempts!(average of 17.3 yards per carry) Piqua would add another score in the fourth quarter to make the final 49-0. For the Indians, the quest for a second straight Miami Valley League championship ends with Tipp City next Friday. </span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">To round out the week, The Sidney Yellow Jackets flew south to face the West Carrollton Pirates. In what turned out to be a huge game for Sidney </span><b>Senior Devin Taborn 5’9 180 RB.</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Taborn rushed for 67 yards but added 2 touchdowns. His scores capped two long drives that helped the Yellow Jackets open up a lead that they would never relinquish. West Carrollton has had a tough season thus far. They’ll still be looking for their first victory of the season next week when they visit the Troy Trojans. </span>
