FBU National Championship: QB’s Shine at Central Carolina Tryout
Programs around the nation are gearing up for the FBU National Championship tournament and holding tryouts to find the best athletes in their area to compete. The FBU National Championship tournament celebrates and promotes youth football through uniting all-star athletes of all backgrounds from across the United States in a true, one-of-a-kind national tournament. The only national football tournament of its kind, the annual FBU National Championship crowns a national champion from brackets in grades 6th, 7th, and 8th.
On October 17th, first year program Central Carolina held a tryout at Wilders Grove Youth Center in Raleigh. At the tryout several athletes come out and compete for a spot to represent their state. While there were a ton of good up-and-coming talent out there, a pair of quarterbacks stole the show. Here’s a look:
Chance Cato | 8th Grade – 2026 | Quarterback
Chance has everything you want to see in a young prospect. He is already showing the ability to make any throw on the field when needed. He has phenomenal arm talent, shows the ability to make intermediate passes to deep passes with no problem. Chance is also very athletic, he can move around inside and out of the pocket while buying his receivers time. Chance is someone to keep an eye on as he grows into the top prospect that scouts and coaches believe he will be.
Camden Minter | 8th Grade – 2026 | Quarterback
Camden is another young, talented quarterback that is making strides each time he takes the field. At the tryout, Camden showed his power when releasing the ball from the pocket. He really has the ability to put good zip on the ball while staying accurate. Camden is very comfortable when he is in the pocket, he doesn’t panic under pressure, he follows his progression and lets it rip when the time is right. Another young prospect for coaches to keep their eyes on moving forward.
Team Central Carolina’s next tryout will be on October 31st and will again take place at Wilders Grove Youth Center in Raleigh. Registration will take place from 4-5 pm and the tryout itself will go from 5-7 pm.
