After a slow start to the game, Norman came alive thanks to a talented group of juniors and sophomores. Speed is on the menu for the Tiger’ on offense. While on defense a couple of players in the back seven showed the promise to be playmakers.
Tias McClarty – 2023 Quarterback
McClarty was the most exciting player on the field, and he proved that midway through the first quarter. North was starting to bottle up his QB runs, but on 3rd and long he broke loose in a major way. He juked and broke tackles at the second level on his scramble, then beat the rest of the defense in a 79 yard foot race for a score. It was a consistent theme through the night for the quick QB. Whenever he was able to find a gap in the Timberwolves’ defense, he was able to exploit it with his speed or shifty moves. Passing was a let down for the smaller QB, but his overall athletic ability will likely lead to him being a collegiate football player as a dynamic offensive weapon.
Brody Boyd – 2023 Linebacker
Listed as a LB on the roster sheet, while Boyd does play near the line of scrimmage he was also often playing in space akin to a DB. In that capacity he was a rock solid tackler and showed a nose for the football. Quite literally in one case, as he was the Tiger to grab a second quarter fumble. Along with the fumble recovery, he also recorded a good open field TFL along with pulling down a scrambling

for a sack.
Dax Noles – 2024 Defensive Back
An intriguing prospect, as he’s young but he’s already listed at 6 foot 170 (and he looks the part in that regard). He’s also a rangy athlete that can cover a lot of ground. That was evident when he pounced on one of the few mistakes the opposing Frakes made during the game for his second quarter interception.
Devin Alexander – 2024 Running Back
Another member of the Tiger’s promising youth movement at the skill positions is this young RB. Alexander runs bigger than his size and helped grinded out tough yards between the tackles. He found the endzone and helped kept some of the defense’s focus off McClarty
Xavier Shackelford – 2023 Running Back
It was difficult for space to be found against the stingy Timberwolves. But the one time Shackhleford was able to break free, he showed impressive acceleration when jetting down the sideline for an over 50 yard gain.
Edric Lambert – 2022 Wide Receiver
The Tigers’ passing game struggled to gain a rhythm, but the strongly built Lambert showed promise when he was able to get the ball into his hands. After receptions, he was looking to deliver punishment with powerfuls runs after catches. Getting Lambert involved to go along with the speedy younger weapons could be the key to Norman having a high scoring offense.
