The Booker T Washington Hornets are one of the most tradition rich programs in the all of Oklahoma. They seemingly have a deep well of talent; full of speed and athleticism every year and this year is no different. Even though they suffered a defeat on their to Choctaw,
Micah Tease Micah Tease 6'1" | WR Booker T Washington | 2023 State OK , Junior, Wide Receiver/Defensive Back
On the defensive side of the ball, the talented 2023 prospect was part of the group that limited Choctaw’s big plays through the air. While on offense he showed why speed kills. He got loose early in the third quarter to give the Hornets a momentary lead. He also has major YAC ability by gaining yards after short catches in the flat and across the middle.
Demitrius Prudom Demitrius Prudom 6'1" | 215 lbs | TE Booker T Washington | 2023 State OK , Junior Wide Receiver/Edge
Prudom was a big target with a good catch radius on offense. While defensively is where he really shined. Often lining up as a stand up defensive end, he wrecked havoc on the offensive with pressures off the edge. But he was also a savvy edge defender, as he was to get his hands up and deflect quick passes to the edge to disrupt the Yellowjackets’ quick passing game.
Deon McKinney Jr, Junior Wide Receiver
One of the most explosive plays of the night came from the first play from scrimmage of the second half. McKinney showed elite change of direction ability when he reversed field on a short pass and exploded for a nearly 50 yard gain.
Jayden Oates Jayden Oates 6'1" | LB Booker T Washington | 2024 State OK , Sophomore Tight End/Edge
Often on the other side of the line of scrimmage, was the physical sophomore. While, not as quick as his partner in crime Prudom, Oates showed strength and shot area explosiveness when crashing down to pull down Choctaw running backs.
Ross Kuhron, Sophomore, Linebacker
Another interesting youngster on the Hornerts’ talented defense was Kuhron. He showed up big a couple different times with good one on one tackles in the redzone. Including a big tackle for loss in the final moments of the the first half.
