Continue ReadingFrom the Rocky Mountains all the way east to the Great Plains of eastern Colorado, there is an abundant amount of wideout talent in the Centennial state. Whether they have exceptional route running ability, strong hands, or a knack to throw a downfield block, there are plenty of receivers to choose from in the Class of 2022. Without further ado, lets look at the best of the best from the WR position.
- WR Grant Page Grant Page WR Fairview | 2022 State CO 6’3″ 190 Fairview
Ranked the #1 WR and the #3 overall prospect in the state, Grant Page Grant Page WR Fairview | 2022 State CO has the making to be a solid wideout at the college level. The Nebraska commit is in the perfect system at Fairview high, with an offense that emphasizes on the Air Raid scheme and constantly puts the ball in the hands of its playmakers. Page is a pass catcher that is seemingly always open and has a knack for finding the soft spot in the defense and exploiting smaller matchups on the outside. Standing at 6’3, Page uses his height to his advantage, but he also possesses a type of quickness that cannot be taught. Fairview often utilizes wide receiver screen plays to get Page in space so he can showoff his D-I type talent. Thus far, through two games of the 2021 season, Page has reeled in 16 receptions for 222 yards and two scores. He is averaging nearly 112 yards per game. I expect Page to continue his dominate start to the season and why he is considered the best WR in the state.
2. WR Ky Oday Ky Oday 5'10" | WR Cherry Creek | 2022 State CO Jr. 5’11″ 170 Cherry Creek
With the privilege of playing on the best 5A team from a year ago, the sky is the limit for WR Ky Oday Ky Oday 5'10" | WR Cherry Creek | 2022 State CO Jr. Going into his senior season with the Bruins, Oday Jr. is ranked as the #5 WR in the state and the #35 best player overall. When you look at Oday Jr.’s film, his lateral quickness and route running off the line of scrimmage is what stands out. The 5’11 speedster is currently verbally committed to Colorado State, as he will be repping the 303 in Fort Collins a year from now. After a limited role on the roster during the 2020 season, Oday Jr. is now the guy among a group of talented wide receivers. Through two games, Oday Jr has surprisingly only caught four balls for 39 yards and a lone touchdown, but I expect a big reason of that is because of the Bruins run heavy start to the season. However, do not let this alarm you. Expect a breakout game from the shifty wideout soon enough.

3. Anthony Harris Jr. 6’5″ 190 Smoky Hill
It’s hard to find a receiver as towering as the one from Smoky Hill High School, but rumor has it that Anthony Harris Jr. is so tall that he uses streetlight poles for coat hangers. Only kidding. But the senior Harris Jr. looms over each defender that lines up across from him, posing quite the threat for opposing defenses. Not only does Harris Jr. use his height to his advantage, but he moves just as quick around the field as someone who is six inches shorter. A year ago, the 6’5 wideout was phenomenal, snatching 44 receptions for an outstanding 844 receiving yards and a whopping 15 touchdowns. Harris Jr. could easily be the best wideout in the class of 2022, and a strong senior year would boost his chances to get looked at by some big time schools. Currently, Harris Jr. has Colorado State and Eastern Michigan on his college list and I’m sure more schools will be looking into him throughout the year.
4. Blake Haggerty Blake Haggerty 6'0" | 185 lbs | ATH Castle View | 2022 State CO 6’0″ 185 Castle View
Coming up next on my list, WR Blake Haggerty Blake Haggerty 6'0" | 185 lbs | ATH Castle View | 2022 State CO is an explosive weapon inside the Sabercats offense. Castle View is off to a 2-0 start to the 2021 campaign, and expectations are higher than ever. Haggerty is a big reason for that, as he gives Castle View deep ball ability, something that has been lacking for the Sabercats in previous years. The able-bodied and electric pass catcher is currently ranked as the 7th best receiver in the state and the 62nd best overall player, according to Prep Redzone. He is also a three-star prospect. One of Haggerty’s best attributes is his ability for big time plays and his capability to make defenders miss in the open field. He even is involved in some trickery, completing a 16 yard pass and totally baffling the Heritage defense. Through the team’s first two games of the season, Haggerty has proved why he is one of the more eruptive players in Colorado and the biggest threat on the Castle View offense, garnering five catches for 70 yards and two scores.

5. WR Dorion McGarity Dorion McGarity WR Fort Collins | 2022 State CO 5’10″ 175 Fort Collins
Few can deny the fact that McGarity possesses the talent to change the tide of any game he sets foot in. A bonafide playmaker, Fort Collins tends to run the offense through McGarity, as they want to put the ball in one of their best player’s hands. So far in 2021, McGarity is living up to the hype. The senior star has already generated 248 receiving yards on 13 catches and has found pay dirt three times by establishing a tight connection with fellow Lambkin QB Ez Campos. His breakout game came in Week 1 against Legacy in a close win, as he shredded the opposition secondary with eight catches, 209 receiving yards, and three touchdowns, with one of them coming on an impressive 67 yard grab as he evaded defenders on his way to the end zone. The Lambkins utilize Dorion at the running back position as well. With only 11 carries, he has rushed for an astounding 107 yards, good for 9.7 yards per carry. Two weeks in, and McGarity has amounted 407 all-purpose yards. McGarity’s valuable flexibility proves that he is a legitimate superstar. Dorion McGarity Dorion McGarity WR Fort Collins | 2022 State CO is currently rated as the #6 WR and the #50 overall.
