Can’t believe it’s already week 4. Here are some interesting things to watch this week.
<strong> </strong>
<strong>William Penn Charter QB [player_tooltip player_id="99377" first="Colin" last="Schumm"] vs. Northeast D-line</strong>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;">Schumm will be facing a tough d-line these next 2 weeks with Northeast this week and Roman Catholic next week. Schumm is our 37th overall ranked player and 5th ranked QB in the ’23 class. He shows to make good decisions and does get the ball out quickly. Northeast has senior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27559" first="Ken" last="Talley"]</strong> and juniors <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27738" first="Ronel" last="Nukah"]</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="66046" first="Kion" last="Wright"]</strong>. Talley is our 6th overall ranked player in the 2022 class. Nukah is ranked 10th overall and Wright is ranked 22nd overall respectfully in the 2023 class. They all have okay size, but are quick off the snap and have speed.</p>
<strong>Avonworth Tight End [player_tooltip player_id="92676" first="Peyton" last="Faulkner"] vs. Sto-Rox Defense</strong>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;">Faulkner had his best game of the season last year against Sto-Rox. According to Maxpreps, he had 4 catches for 79 yards and a touchdown. Faulkner is considered to be the best tight end in the WPIAL in the ’23 class. With <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91825" first="Drevon" last="Miller-Ross"]</strong> another year better and the addition of <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91497" first="Jay" last="Pearson"]</strong>, can Sto-Rox stop Faulkner this go around?</p>
<strong>Penn Hills QB [player_tooltip player_id="98220" first="Julian" last="Dugger"] Vs. Woodland Hills Secondary</strong>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;">Dugger is supposed to be amongst the top QB’s in the state in the ’24 class. So far he has really struggled. In his first two games, he’s completed 45%, 199 yards, 1 touchdown, and 3 interceptions. He’s also lost 2 fumbles. You cannot put all the blame on Dugger though. The offensive line doesn’t give him enough time and receivers dropping balls as well. Dugger has faced two tough defenses and Woodland Hills is his third. Woodland Hills’ secondary consists of senior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27685" first="Deontae" last="Williams"]</strong>, sophomore <strong>Steven Jenkins</strong>, and freshman <strong>Amere Brown</strong>. Williams is a tough physical kid with quickness and speed. He recorded his first interception in their first game. Jenkins is an up-and-coming corner. He’s got the size and shows good break and acceleration. He also recorded an interception this season. There’s not much film on Jenkins or Brown, but there is quite a bit of buzz about them. Dugger threw 2 picks last year against Woodland Hills. Can he bounce back and get revenge from last year’s game?</p>
