Fairmont Firebirds:
Drew Baker RB ℅ 23. He had 28 Attempts for 149 Yards and 2 Touchdowns. Averaged 5.3 Yards Per Carry. Baker is a workhorse back. Has breakaway speed. Has solid instincts and vision. Does a nice job squaring his shoulders and using leg drive to gain tough yards.
Will Porter RB 5’8 163 lbs. ℅ 22. Had 7 Attempts for 39 yards. Averaged 5.6 yards per carry. Also, Completed 1 passing attempt for 17 yards. Porter has soft hands and runs decent routes out of the backfield. Is a tough runner. Finishes Runs by lowering his shoulder and delivering a blow to the defender.
Soso Poe RB ℅ 24. Had 5 Attempts for 52 yards. Averaged 10.4 yards per carry! If Baker and Porter are the Thunder in the offense, Poe is the Lightning! Has breakaway speed. Has decent vision and a nice burst through the hole.
Male’k Hillon QB 5’9 170 lbs. ℅ 22. Rushed 7 times for 57 yards and 1 Touchdown. Completed only passing attempt for 11 yards and 1 Touchdown. Hillon is the Field General of the Offense. Is a Dual Threat. Sets up quickly and Fires the ball downfield routinely to the open man. Will fight through tackles as a runner. Uses frame to stay low and drives legs forward for extra yards. Decision-making is solid. Reads and knows when to keep the ball and when to give it up in the Option.
Enoch Cruz OG 6’5 320 lbs. ℅ 23. Is an absolute Mauler on the Offensive Line! Routinely Drives Defensive Tackles into Linebackers. Has High Motor. Blocks through the whistle. In Pass Pro, Sets up fairly quickly, moves his feet, and is a wall. In Short yardage situations, the Offense is run behind him routinely. An Exciting prospect to watch!
Dalton Gustwiller DT/TE 6’5 270 lbs. ℅ 23. Is an Anchor. Will Split Doubles Routinely using technique and, strength. Does a good job attacking “Half the Man” and Ripping through. Motor doesn’t stop. Has solid pass rush moves, can rip, swim and bull rush. Decent closing speed getting to the Quarterback. Good Tackler wraps up the ball carrier and doesn’t let go. Offensively, Plays Tight End and is a very solid Down blocker. Has soft hands. Is a playmaker on both sides of the ball. Definitely, One to Watch going forward.
