Rank 1 : JuJuan Williams #7 OLB Jr.
Was a busy night for Williams, he had a lot of pass coverage success, and was a part of a good portion of tackles. Stopped the ball on crucial downs and stayed fresh the whole game, seeming to be an anchor on his side of the field. JuJuans did all he could in a 30 – 7 loss, although it wasn’t enough tonight, he showed he has tenacity and plays smart, utilizes excellent field vision.
Rank 2 : Micah Pames #3 DB Sr.
Micah was holding his own with the deep and outside routes, as he was targeted multiple times. He couldn’t defend every pass, but in the red zone that is another story. He was saving his team with several clutch pass defenses. Was very careful as I don’t remember seeing a flag thrown for PI all night against the Trojans. All while larger recivers are his matchups. Despite the loss Micah showed he can play undersized cornerback by being the best pass defender for the Trojans in week 1.
Rank 3 : Nehki Hunter #44 LB Sr.
Nehki was a good mid zone read player, limited the QB runs to a minimum and had no issue running into help finish a tackle. Hunter was waiting for short passes while simultaneously watching any deep middle threats. Followed the QBs eyes and was extremly patient, he was usually making open field tackles or assisting a short / TFL stop. His reactions were a cruical on 4th and 3rd downs, an LB that shown plenty of talent this weekend.
Rank 4 : Cayden Logsdon #17 CB Sr.
Barylin was good at adjusting and playing both man and zone effectively. Cleveland is a player who comes prepared to the line each time. When South Warren played no huddle, Braylin was set everytime ready, never having stamina or any injury problems and playing some of the top ranked guys in the state, holding his own this senior was a great pass coverage DB with plenty of promise to shine throughout the season.
Rank 5 : Alex White #8 LB Sr.
Alex White could play SS or ILB, a fast man coverage defender with some serious hit power. The LB group for NHHS was depended on this week for most the stops they did have, and White was a crucial part of that. Alex is no doubt a big part of this defense and will continue to perform.
