The new-look 2024 rankings for the Show-Me State feature two new prospects among the top three and four new players among the Top 10, including one transfer who crossed the border from Kansas into Missouri for his sophomore year of high school.
Liberty North middle linebacker Melvin Laster Melvin Laster 6'2" | 235 lbs | LB Liberty North | 2024 State MO , a 6-foot-2, 230-pound man child, entered the rankings at No. 2 overall after an impressive two-month stretch this summer where he received scholarship offers from Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas State and Kansas. He’s a big backer who can move and hit.
St. Pius X (KC) defensive end Jayshawn Ross Jayshawn Ross 6'4" | 230 lbs | ATH Liberty North | 2024 State MO entered the rankings at No. 3 overall after receiving offers from Kansas State and Kansas. A 6-4, 220-pounder who also plays wide receiver, Ross racked up 60 tackles, six sacks, five tackles for loss and four fumble recoveries as a freshman.
Keelan Smith Keelan Smith 6'3" | 200 lbs | DB Liberty North | 2024 State MO , a 6-3, 200-pound safety and wide receiver, transferred to Liberty North from Bishop Miege in Kansas and enters the Missouri 2024 rankings at No. 8 overall. He’s a talented two-way player — he also plays wide receiver — with good, speed and athleticism.
Raymore-Peculiar standout Jaden Reddell Jaden Reddell 6'5" | 235 lbs | TE Raymore-Peculiar | 2024 State MO entered the rankings at No. 10 overall. A 6-4, 205-pounder, Reddell also plays baseball and basketball but excels as a bigger wide receiver with surprising speed. We could have ranked Reddell at wide receiver or athlete, but we are projecting he will be recruited as a tight end as he continues to get bigger and stronger.
Marcus Neal Marcus Neal 6'1" | 180 lbs | ATH Raytown South | 2024 State MO , a 6-1, 160-pounder, enters the Top 20 at No. 18. Listed as an athlete, Neal is a fast and strong wide receiver-defensive back at Raytown South who looks like he will have a breakout season as a sophomore.
