There’s so much talent in 2022 that we tend to forget about how stacked 2023 will be, with players currently on the list as well as the watch list. Taking a look at the 2023 rankings, here are some notes on players that stuck out during summer scouting and are set to take some big leaps in the future.
Brennan Parachek Brennan Parachek 6'5" | 225 lbs | TE Dexter | 2023 State MIThe first thing that stands out on film when watching the Dexter tight end is his pure size and frame. He’s built like a true tight end with the athleticism of a wide receiver. He can block well and plays with a lot of fire. He has six offers currently from schools like Kentucky and Michigan State, but that is going to rise when he steps on the field this fall. Expect him to be one of the highest recruited players in the state when the season is over.
Johnathan Slack Johnathan Slack 6'3" | 260 lbs | OL Detroit King | 2023 State MIHad a GREAT visit with @MSU_Football & @statebaseball Thank you @Coach_mtucker @Coach_TGilmore @CoachRuffing @BossJake for the amazing day!! Can't wait to get back on campus! #GoGreen 💚🤍 pic.twitter.com/lrivwSgq0A

The Martin Luther King offensive tackle is set for a HUGE campaign in 2022 after receiving a lot of attention this offseason. He’s a powerful blocker with solid technique and a big anchor. His hand fighting is top notch and one of the many reasons that division one programs should be high on him.
Amare Snowden Amare Snowden 6'4" | 190 lbs | DB Roseville | 2023 State MIBusiness is Business🤐…. I had a Great Camp ! Thanks for the invite. @DemetricDWarren @AllAmericaGame @UAFootball @AllenTrieu @247Sports @SWiltfong247 🔥🔥🔥 @CoachCarr52 pic.twitter.com/3Qjy9vcJlu

Size on a defensive back is highly coveted, especially with how lengthy wide receivers have become. Snowden’s ability to play lockdown on the outside using his physicality stands out on film. He has a controlled press and knows how to mirror speedy wideouts well. He has 11 offers currently from schools like Notre Dame and Cincinnati.
Davon Jackson Davon Jackson 6'3" | 195 lbs | ATH River Rouge | 2023 State MIWhat a Big difference a year can make went from 225 to 365 #PR #Portcityathleate pic.twitter.com/8HWEDJ0t9e

With offers from Kentucky, West Virginia, and Arizona State, it’s not hard to explain why Jackson is a coveted player for River Rouge. At 6’3, 195 pounds, he can move well for his size and is versatile, being able to play defensive back or outside linebacker. It will be interesting to see what his coaches have planned for him this season and if he takes on a sort of hybrid safety role for the defense.

The second rated player in the class can be a force on the offensive line. His size and raw power is evident on film for West Bloomfield. He is currently being highly recruited by Michigan and many experts expect him to land with the Wolverines. Herring has 13 offers total, with that number expected to sky rocket once the 2021 season gets underway. His Junior season should be a blast to watch, with many recruiters sure to attend.

Jameel Croft Jameel Croft 6'1" | 165 lbs | DB Detroit King | 2023 State MIIt’s not hard to see why Croft has offers from schools like Tennessee and Kentucky. His athleticism on the outside is hard to ignore and he can hit a second gear that defenders simply can’t keep up with. If I had to pick one breakout star from the upcoming season, it would be him, as Croft will leave most defenders scratching their heads when they go up against him. Between him and his teammate Kenny Merrieweather Kenny Merrieweather 6'3" | 245 lbs | DL Detroit King | 2023 State MI , King should have an explosive aerial offense this season.
