1. Jaden Greathouse Jaden Greathouse 6'2" | 210 lbs | WR Austin Westlake | 2023 State TX – Westlake High School (Austin, TX)
2020-21 Season: 69 receptions, 1,145 receiving yards, 13 receiving touchdowns
Greathouse has made huge waves throughout Texas and even the nation as one of the best wide receivers in his class. He has already received multiple offers from schools such as Arkansas, Baylor, Oklahoma, Penn State and Texas. On top of helping Westlake to another state title, he was also unanimously named to first-team all-district and was named MaxPreps Sophomore All-American. Looking at his tape, it is easy to see why he is among the best, his route running is focused and as perfect as can be, he is strong, fast and can contribute to blocking thanks to his size on running plays. Despite being in coverage, he is still able to make the play and is especially excellent on short routes.
2. Braylon James Braylon James 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Stoney Point | 2023 State TX – Del Valle High School (Del Valle, TX)
2020-21 Season: 42 receptions, 442 receiving yards, 7 receiving touchdowns
James is also worth mentioning as a part of the best wide receivers in Texas. He currently is a 4-star receiver with multiple offers including from schools such as Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, California and Colorado. He originally played for Stony Point before transferring to Del Valle where last season he was named to the 26-6A second-team all-district team. Most recently, he unofficially visited Ohio State and has received offers from USC, Oregon State, Texas and West Virginia just in the last month. James has the size just like Greathouse, but James also has an excellent vertical, giving him the ability to jump over covering defensive backs. James is also slippery, making him hard to tackle and he has an excellent sense of right where the ball is going to be. He can also make himself get open especially when his quarterback has to move outside the pocket, a common thing to happen in today’s style of football.
3. Keaton Kubecka Keaton Kubecka 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Westlake | 2023 State TX – Westlake High School (Austin, TX)
2020-21 Season: 9 receptions, 151 receiving yards, 1 receiving touchdown
Odds are, Kubecka will be lining up on the opposite side of Greathouse which spells trouble for opposing defenses. Kubecka, unfortunately, missed eight weeks due to an injury but he has a lot of promise as an incoming junior and colleges have already seen that. He has received offers from Arkansas State, Houston and Kansas. However, during the time he was playing, Kubecka displayed excellent route-running, and the ability to make hard catches. If he can stay healthy this season, Kubecka could be a dangerous weapon for the Westlake offense, especially if Greathouse is getting double-covered.
4. Riley Pechacek Riley Pechacek 5'11" | 175 lbs | WR Boerne | 2023 TX – Boerne High School (Boerne, TX)
2020-21 Season: 53 receptions, 838 receiving yards, 9 receiving touchdowns
Another great route-runner, Pechacek is an excellent slot receiver with his ability to get open and to catch in traffic. He is also a speed freak and can slip out of almost every tackle. Simply put, Pechacek is a speed demon who can confuse defensive backs with route-running capabilities. Complicated routes are simple to him which creates opportunities for big plays, especially if the defensive backs can not keep up with where he is going.
