Here in the month of June we’re updating all of our prospect rankings as the 2021 season gets closer and closer. For the 2022 class, we went from a Top 100 to a Top 150 as this class continues to get deeper and deeper. The margin between the ranked players is very close and this class has a chance to be fairly deep from top to bottom. The guys in the Top 10 are some of the best in recent memory, especially in that Top 5. You can check out the Top 150 Right Here. Throughout the week, we’ll be adding some analysis on the players that have stood out in the 2022 class with positional breakdowns, newcomers and even prospects on the border of being ranked this time around. Go back and check out our updated rankings for the 2023 and 2024 classes. For now, we take a look at five athlete prospects who stood out to us in the last ranking update.

He’s one of the highest rated athletes in the state’s 2022 class but this might be the last time that we have him listed as an athlete. Bethany standout

is one of the better athletic prospects in this class and it’s been tough to narrow down what he’ll be at the next level but it appears to be on the defensive side of the ball. Malaska has good size and excellent speed to go with it. He’s one of the faster prospects when it comes to the 40 yard dash and it should also be mentioned that he’s a standout soccer player as well. Malaska is a standout in soccer as well and shows that he has the ability to play both sides of the ball and never get tired. However, we like what Malaska brings to the table as a defensive back and more specifically at corner. Malaska has the size that he can stand up at the line of scrimmage and be physical with opposing wide receivers. Then he has the speed to catch up if he’s beaten on the line. He can consistently keep up with receivers and has the size to make plays on the ball. Don’t be surprised when the next ranking comes out to see Malaska as a defensive back.

This should come as no surprise that Booker T Washington has produced another standout athlete that is one of the best in the class.

emerged as a breakout prospect for the Hornets last fall when they continued to get snake bit by injuries to some of their key players. Those injuries opened the door for unknown prospects to make a name for themselves and that’s where Drew came in. The standout Hornet then continued that momentum going into the offseason where he had a great run with Sooner 7, playing at the wide receiver position and becoming a home run threat every time he stepped on the field. Drew became very consistent as that big playmaker for Sooner 7 and showed that he can be that on Friday night’s. He has a great blend of size, speed and then very consistent hands. He made some phenomenal plays this spring. Now, full disclosure, those plays were made without pads on. It’s obviously different on Friday nights but we have no doubt that what we saw from the next Hornet standout will translate to this season.

was rated too low. We updated them again this week and still feel the same, but this class is incredibly deep. However, we’ll put Udoumoh at the top of the list of prospects who could make a HUGE jump this fall when we update the rankings again in October. Udoumoh is a phenomenal athlete but as of right now, the natural position on the gridiron is still up in the air. You also throw in the fact that he’s an excellent basketball prospect as well and he’ll have some options when it comes to the next level. From a pure athleticism standpoint, Udoumoh is right there with some of the other guys in this breakdown. We just want to see more of him and see where that natural position might be. Even if his future is on the basketball court, we’ll still consider the Victory standout one of the top football prospects in this class because that’s what he is. The one constant theme with all of these prospects is athleticism that you just can’t coach and Udoumoh has that and a lot of other prospects simply fall short.

has to be near the top of prospects we’re fired up to see this fall. When you look at his breakout season as a junior, you can’t help but wonder what he’s going to do for an encore this season. Dockins ended up being a very impactful player for the Lions on offense and that’s exactly what they needed following the graduation of Daniel Hishaw. It might have been a down year for Moore in 2020 after they made it to the semifinals in 2019. However, a big bright side was the emergence of Dockins as an absolute playmaker for the Lions in their offense. Whether it was as a running back, wide receiver, return specialist or whatever they needed, Dockins was able to line up and make plays, no matter where he was on the field. The natural position for Dockins appears to be running back at the next level. He looks so similar to what Hishaw was for the Lions just a few years ago and Hishaw has now transitioned to running back for Kansas. It wouldn’t be crazy to see a similar move for a player like Dockins, who knows how to make some big plays all over the field.

. The talented playmaker made the transition from quarterback to running back last year and now comes into 2021 ready to make even more fireworks happen. We have Banks listed as an athlete as opposed to strictly running back because he does offer some value as a pass catcher as well. He can be motioned out of the backfield or simply line up at wide receiver and use his speed to his advantage. From the start of last season to right now, he’s continued to grow as a receiver and will provide Union with yet another weapon to use on the offensive side of the ball. Banks is one of the fastest prospects in this 2022 class and speed has always been the thing that has made him special. Now that he’s grown into a more natural position, the sky is the limit for what he will be able to do this fall.
