So far this offseason, we have evaluated 14 quarterbacks that are in our Class of 2022 rankings. Today, we take a look at the final three quarterbacks who are currently ranked in the class. These are some under-the-radar prospects, but I do not believe that will be the case much longer. I could really see all of these prospects catapulting their way up the list. College coaches need to start paying attention. These three are ready to steal the spotlight this year. [player_tooltip player_id="98042" first="Houston" last="Swan"], 6’1, 200 pounds, Eastern Hancock [player_tooltip player_id="98042" first="Houston" last="Swan"] is a very disciplined quarterback. He is always calm in the pocket and he shows very good mechanics. Swan is a pocket-passer who throws off of a very good platform and he steps into his throws which is also very good. Swan is also very accurate and he has a strong arm. He has the ability to hit the deep as well as targets underneath. Swan may be a pocket-passer type of quarterback, however, he can still make plays with his legs and help pick up first downs and put the ball in the end zone that way. [player_tooltip player_id="98042" first="Houston" last="Swan"] is the type of fundamentally-sound player that will make any offense better. [player_tooltip player_id="98092" first="Carson" last="Clark"], 6’1, 175 pounds, Bishop Luers In spite of playing in one of the Midwest’s most talent-rich areas, [player_tooltip player_id="98092" first="Carson" last="Clark"] continues to shine in Fort Wayne for Bishop Luers. Clark led the Knights to a state championship game appearance in 2020 and he will certainly have his sights set on bigger goals in 2021. Clark has very good arm talent. He throws a good deep ball and he can put good velocity on all of his throws. Clark can also make really good decisions and good throws while on the run. He also shows a good understanding of coverages and where the open receiver is likely to be. During the play, Clark makes really good reads and delivers a good ball. I see this fall serving as a big breakout season for [player_tooltip player_id="98092" first="Carson" last="Clark"]. [player_tooltip player_id="98096" first="Gehrig" last="Slunaker"], 6’1, 185 pounds, Mount Vernon [player_tooltip player_id="98096" first="Gehrig" last="Slunaker"] is somebody who sees the field very well and has a good understanding of defenses. Slunaker does well with read option and run-pass option plays. He makes good reads in the passing game and can always find the open receiver. Slunaker also has good mobility and he can pick up yardage with his legs. Slunaker also does a good job getting the ball out of his hands quickly, which makes things really difficult for pass rushers. [player_tooltip player_id="98096" first="Gehrig" last="Slunaker"] has the type of skillset that would make him a very successful quarterback at the next level. All three of these quarterbacks show serious potential. The 2021 season is shaping up to be a big year for these three. I would not be surprised to see these prospects make their way up the rankings. For college coaching staffs who are searching for a playmaker at quarterback who can make their team better, these three are all solid options. I see big things coming from these three student-athletes in the fall.
