The second list of rising stock senior defensive backs in the state is impressive in their coverage skills and ability to close and tackle in space. They often make key defensive plays that end an offensive drive by creating a turnover or make crucial third down stops to end an opponent’s drive.
<strong>Eric Jones 6’0” 165 Cleveland Holy Name</strong>
Jones is an athletic corner who can does an excellent job of using his body to press the receiver to the sideline and wall them off from making the reception. He is also a physical tackler who uses his hands to shed blockers in space. Jones uses his speed off the edge to block punts.

Anderson shows the ability to play halves coverage safety or cornerback. He uses his hands well as a press corner making the receiver work hard to get a release. Anderson can also play off man due to his quickness and ability to transition smoothly.

This competitor is a physical safety who can make plays on the perimeter. Saunders is an exceptional openfield tackler who packs a punch when making the hit. He is also a dangerous kickoff return specialist as well as a very good wide receiver.

Rathburn is a tall and lanky defensive back with deceptive speed and athleticism. He closes on the football at proper angles when coming up from the safety position and drives his legs on contact when making the tackle. Rathburn displays the range coaches look for at his position.

Whether at strong or down safety, Hill is an aggressive and physical player who comes up quickly to make the tackle on the ball carrier. He keeps great tempo on perimeter runs and reacts quickly to close on receivers denying them the reception.

Baker is one of the most versatile skilled athletes who can play multiple positions both sides of the football. As a defensive back he consistently delivers big hits to opposing running backs and receivers, often separating them from the football and causing a turnover.
