Michigan has continually been a hot bed for explosive offensive talent, with NFL pass catchers and Michigan natives like Devin Funchess and Allen Robinson leading the charge in the last 15 years. For 2021, there is a lot of intrigue and upside with this particular position group. On film, traits stand out immensely and it’s easy to see why these recruits are highly touted. Let’s check out some of the best outside talent in Michigan for the 2021 season.
Christian Rapley Christian Rapley 6'0" | 185 lbs | ATH Belleville | 2022 State MI
The six foot receiver is a dynamic weapon for Belleville. His playmaking ability along with his size provides several mismatches on the field. Rapley is a consistent catcher of the football and also runs clean routes. He is currently being recruited by schools like Kentucky, Arizona State, and Central Michigan.
Antonio Gates Jr
The son of former NFL superstar Antonio Gates, Antonio Gates Jr, is a name to watch in high school football next season. He stands at 6 feet and one inch and has a lot to offer as a pass catcher, including making big plays down the field. Gates is currently being recruited by schools like Michigan State and Tennessee.
Jaden Mangham Jaden Mangham 6'3" | 185 lbs | ATH Birmingham Groves | 2022 State MI
At six foot three, 185, it’s no surprise that Mangham is getting college recruiters attention. He is a speedy receiver that plays multiple sports. Along with his speed, Mangham presents a dominant frame to high point the football in the air for his quarterback. He has offers from schools like Michigan, Michigan State, and Notre Dame.

Kyle Vanderjagt
Vanderjagt is a towering figure, standing at 6’4, who can present a big target for the quarterback. His basketball skills are no fluke either, as he as garnered attention from top college coaches, including Tom Izzo. Vanderjagt currently has offers to play football at Ferris State, but it’s undecided what his future plans are currently in regards to what sport he could play in college.
