Enjoy! It’s officially April and with the NFL Draft later this month, mock drafts and Big Boards are all you’ll hear about if you’re a football fan. We’re leaning into that with Big Boards. Every Thursday and Friday, we’ll release a new Big Board, ranking the top ten players at their position, regardless of class. Now, similar to our prospect rankings, these rankings are based on who these players are as college prospects. Stay tuned each week for two more Big Boards, ranking and looking at the absolute best players at their respective positions. Today, we continue our Big Board series with a look at the best athletes in Oklahoma. 1) [player_tooltip player_id="122426" first="Bai" last="Jobe"] - 2023 - Community Christian This might be the craziest Big Board ranking that we’ve done but we can’t really deny him his spot. Community Christian sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="122426" first="Bai" last="Jobe"] has played six games at the varsity level and is already considered a top athlete in the state. Jobe is a unique and freaky athlete that doesn’t come around very often. It goes without saying but Jobe is still learning the game and is still very raw. But all of the cliches apply here as his combination of size, speed and athleticism is something you can’t coach. 2) [player_tooltip player_id="101401" first="Jocelyn" last="Malaska"] - 2022 - Bethany Before [player_tooltip player_id="122426" first="Bai" last="Jobe"] became one of the more sought after 2023 recruits, we had Bethany’s [player_tooltip player_id="101401" first="Jocelyn" last="Malaska"]. Another prospect who is raw in some areas but you just can’t coach the athleticism that Malaska plays with. Malaska is already being recruited by D1 programs and has a very high ceiling for what he could be at the next level. While he will probably end up on the defensive side of the ball, we’re not ready to pull the plug on Malaska being a big time option at receiver. 3) [player_tooltip player_id="38703" first="Rovaughn" last="Banks"] - 2022 - Union He started his varsity career as Union’s quarterback but last year he moved over to the running back position. [player_tooltip player_id="38703" first="Rovaughn" last="Banks"] is one of the fastest players in Oklahoma and will still have packages in which you have to watch out for him throwing the ball. However, this fall could be huge for Banks who has shown his ability as a pass catcher this offseason. It wouldn’t be crazy to see Banks be used like Bixby has used [player_tooltip player_id="38679" first="Braylin" last="Presley"] over the last two years. 4) [player_tooltip player_id="57163" first="Mason" last="Ford"] - 2023 - Coweta One of our favorite prospects on this Big Board is Coweta’s [player_tooltip player_id="57163" first="Mason" last="Ford"]. He’s not the biggest prospect but what he’s going to end up being by the time he’s a senior is what impresses us the most. Ford is the definition of an athlete as he’s an impact player for Coweta as a wide receiver, cornerback and helps out in special teams as a return specialist. However, over the last few months, Ford has stood out as a cornerback. But we won’t close the door on him being a receiver either. 5) [player_tooltip player_id="101399" first="Marcus" last="Dockins Jr."] - 2022 - Moore Moore had to find someone who could replace the dynamic playmaking ability of Daniel Hishaw coming into the 2020 season and fortunately they found that in Dockins. The dynamic 2022 prospect had a breakout season for the Lions in 2020 and we have him circled as a player to watch in 2021 now that we know a little bit about him. Dockins appeared to be at his best when he was lined up at running back but he could end up being moved around to a few different spots. 6) [player_tooltip player_id="101409" first="Joshua" last="Udoumoh"] - 2022 - Victory Christian The first of a couple players on this list that will end up having some options by the time it’s all said and done. Victory Christian standout [player_tooltip player_id="101409" first="Joshua" last="Udoumoh"] is also a standout basketball player. On the court, he’s considered a prospect with a very high upside and is in the middle of having a good offseason playing AAU ball. However, on the football field, Udoumoh is a special talent that might end up having more options when it comes to college based on his athleticism alone. 7) [player_tooltip player_id="38772" first="Montez" last="Edwards"] - 2022 - Lawton MacArthur Another football/basketball standout is Lawton MacArthur’s [player_tooltip player_id="38772" first="Montez" last="Edwards"]. We got a chance to see a little bit of Edwards on the football field this past weekend and the in person evaluation matches what we’ve seen on tape. Speed. Lots and lots of speed no matter where Edwards is lined up. Again, Edwards is also a standout on the basketball floor so he’ll end up having his options when it comes to the next level. However, he looks like a dangerous slot receiver when he’s on the gridiron. 8) [player_tooltip player_id="38774" first="Zane" last="Woodham"] - 2022 - Holland Hall Holland Hall was absolutely loaded last year and that’s why they ran away with the state championship. One player that might have gone overlooked from that championship run is 2022 standout [player_tooltip player_id="38774" first="Zane" last="Woodham"]. Whether it was leading Holland Hall in rushing or standing out as a linebacker, Woodham was an unsung hero for the Dutch on their way to the state championship. With a new quarterback in 2021, Woodham will no doubt have more of a role in the offense and Holland Hall’s success. 9) [player_tooltip player_id="38714" first="Brayden" last="Dutton"] - 2022 - Yukon One player that is certainly on the short list for players who we’re most excited to see this fall is Yukon’s [player_tooltip player_id="38714" first="Brayden" last="Dutton"]. Last time we saw Dutton, he was quarterbacking Yukon’s flexbone attack and doing it to perfection. With Yukon having a new head coach taking over, a big question is what role Dutton will have in the new offense. And Dutton is yet another prospect that is also a standout basketball player and is in the middle of putting up big numbers while playing AAU ball. 10) [player_tooltip player_id="57166" first="Braylen" last="Irvin-Fisher"] - 2023 - Union A player who we’ve written quite a bit about this offseason has been Union’s [player_tooltip player_id="57166" first="Braylen" last="Irvin-Fisher"]. The Union sophomore has been outstanding while playing for Sooner 7 on the 7v7 circuit at the tight end position. However, last year he only played on the defensive side of the ball for Union at linebacker. Fisher has shown the versatility that has earned his spot on this list. It will be interesting to see if he ends up playing a little offense this fall.
