Overall MVP: Michael Masunas Michael Masunas 6'5" | 250 lbs | TE Hamilton | 2022 State AZ , TE, 2022, Hamilton
Masunas walked away as the overall MVP of the showcase. Possesses great size, frame, and length for a Power 5 TE at 6’5” 240 lbs. He’s a natural pass catcher with strong/confident hands and good body control to adjust to the ball. He has continued to improve his speed and bend to develop into one of the state’s top TE recruits with nine D1 offers including Florida State, Maryland, UNLV, Army, and Air Force.
Offensive MVP: Jai Rodriguez, OL, 2022, Desert Vista
Well-balanced and long frame at 6’6” 270 lbs. Flashed plus athleticism for his size with good mobility and lateral quickness. Also showed good bend and flexibility in the hips and ankles. Explosive and quick first step out his stance. Great foundation of talent, size, and athleticism to build on as he continues to develop. Was offered early by ASU and also has an Idaho offer.
Defensive MVP: Ivan Martin Ivan Martin 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Saguaro | 2022 State AZ , DB, 2022, Saguaro
A strong cover corner with great speed and athleticism. He is a dynamic athlete with fluid hips out of his transition and great change of direction to match WR movement. Shows a good ability to close on the ball using his burst and acceleration out of his break. Love his coverage instincts, he demonstrates good route recognition and anticipation to make a play on the ball. Recruiting is starting to pick up with offers from Army and Navy recently.
2023 MVP: Alex Doost Alex Doost 6'6" | 310 lbs | OL Mountain Ridge | 2023 State AZ , OL, Mountain Ridge
Ideal size and frame at 6’6” 300 lbs. with plus athleticism. He moves extremely well for his size with good lateral agility and short area quickness. He’s strong and powerful at the POA driving his legs through contact and knows how to finish. Understands how to use his leverage and shows sound fundamentals and technique. Has great upside and potential as a D1 recruit.
2024 MVP: Isaiah Garcia, OL, Cyprus (UT)
A young offensive lineman with an extremely high ceiling. Great length with an athletic build at 6’5” 260 lbs. As a freshman he shows great movement and feet with his ability to pull and work to the second level efficiently and effectively. Excels when he can fire off the line and deliver contact but also displays a good ability to move his feet and match a pass rushers lateral movement to maintain positional leverage in his pass set. Great skillset at an early age.
2022 MVP: Cael Stewart Cael Stewart 6'5" | 210 lbs | QB Blue Ridge | 2022 AZ , QB, St. John’s
Impressive multi-sport athlete that transferred into St. John’s from New Mexico. Ideal size and length for a college level QB at 6’4” 210 lbs. He flashed great arm talent with a smooth and fluid over the top release. Good footwork and mobility in the pocket and showed he can throw on the run to either direction without sacrificing accuracy. Coaches love his high football IQ and ability to use his athleticism to improvise and make something out of nothing. He was one of the top QB’s in New Mexico and is a quality college QB prospect that is being slept on.
