Endzone Star QBs
In this article:
Houston – We have QBS. The quarterbacks usually grab the most attention at these 7-on-7 tournaments. The reason being is a simple fact that they are throwing the ball so much more often than a regular-season game. So the areal attack was is in full effect this past weekend for these teams. Naturally, the quarterbacks grab the spotlight and boy do they deliver. This past weekend in the woodlands was no exception. We had a show out there with a lot of top-notch talent in attendance at the Endzone 7-on-7 event. Which was very well put together and well run, so kudos to the guys that work extremely hard behind the scenes to make all of this happen for the athletes. That being said, let’s take a look at who were some of the top gunslingers and rising stars were at the tournament.
Mabrey Mettaeur (24) | 6-5 QB | The Woodlands | 7v7 Team: Texas Fury
Mabrey is one Quarterback who attracts the attention of all in attendance whenever you see him out on the field. Standing at 6-5 and being so incredibly gifted throwing the ball for being so young are just a few things that make him so special. Since these tournaments started at the beginning of the year. Mabrey’s name has been in circulation from just about everyone in Texas who follows high school football. He is also receiving a lot of attention from SEC schools and many others interested in this young QB.

Diego Narezo (22) | QB | Cornerstone Christian | 7v7 Team: Elite House
Diego has shined bright at just about every tournament I have been to this year. He leads his team to a championship this weekend and was also named offensive MVP. He has great quarterback mechanics, his footwork and timing are beautifully synchronized. He can place the ball anywhere he wants to and can fit the ball into some pretty tight windows. A true leader on the field. I like his competitive nature and his ability out there on the field. He should prove to have an impressive senior campaign.
Caught a few plays from the @Endzone7on7 🏈 championship game between Elite House & KB3… Endzone tournament was a movie as usual, s/o to @glavalius & staff for a great weekend, always professional 👏🏿@Greedy_Elite @DiegoNarezo pic.twitter.com/CYvF5nkztV

Nicco Marchiol (22) | 6-2 QB | Hamilton (AZ) | 7v7 Team: KB3 Elite
The Florida State commit was dropping dimes all tournament long. It was very impressive to watch him set back and dissect defenses. I really liked his ability to throw the ball deep down the field and puts great touch on the ball.

JC Evans (24) | 6-4 QB | Brandeis | 7v7 Team: 7VII Front Seven Sports
Boy JC is another great young QB that is right up there in the conversation and likeness as Mabrey Metteaur. His size, height, and arm strength are all already requisite for college material. He has some great coaching and plays for one of San Antonio’s Powerhouse teams in Brandeis. His recruitment has also begun to heat up this 7-on-7 season because of his impressive play and colleges are already starting to gain interest.
Meet up with Brandeis HS- QB JC Evans today and he was putting on a show at the @Endzone7on7 . He continues to impress with his strong arm and accuracy. Will be one of the top QBs in his class. pic.twitter.com/ZIJcQGN6p9

Dylan Garrett (22) | 6-5 QB | Lamar Consolidated | 7v7 Team: ALL-EN
Dylan, probably one of the biggest sleepers on this list. This QB can throw the ball just as well as any other QB that was in attendance at the endzone tournament. He is severely overlooked but consistently proves himself out there on the field each tournament and helps lead his team to always be in the conversation for best teams at these events.
Khalon Davis Khalon Davis 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB Denton Ryan | 2023 TX (23) | 6-0 QB | Denton Ryan | 7v7 Team: True Buzz
A big-time quarterback who can light up the scoreboard and make the big-time plays look routine. I love this guy’s timing on all of his throws and as he says below the ball placement is second to none. He can rifle a ball into a receiver or throw a nice lob pass deep down the middle of the field. On tape, you will find one of the top dual-threat QBs in his class out of Texas. His highlights were like a movie last season and he should be able to give his team another shot at winning another title.

Caden Bosanko (22) | 5-10 QB | East Central | 7v7 Team: Defcon
Bosanko can throw strikes, there’s no doubt about that. A little undersized at the quarterback position, but he makes up for his lack of height with how big he plays on the field. He was hitting guys in stride and racking up touchdowns to guys like Anthony Evans and Esteban Guillory as shown below. He sure can find the endzone.

Brady Dever Brady Dever 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Fort Bend Christian Academy | 2023 State TX (23) | 6-1 QB | Fort Bend Christian Academy | 7v7 Team: Texas Fury
Brady just earned an invite to showcase his talents at the FBU top gun camp. He had a tremendous outing at the endzone 7-on-7 tournament. He is a dual-sport athlete that is currently playing baseball and balancing playing at these 7-on-7 tournaments which shows his true commitment to becoming better at his craft. His recruitment should begin to take off next season.

Sylas Gomez (22) | 6-2 QB | Central Catholic | 7v7 Team: Texas Smoke
Looked super impressive all tournament long. He was turning a lot of heads with his smooth footwork when he drops back and the laser of an arm he has. Sylas received his first Division I offer from the army last month. I know this QB will have plenty more come in. He’s only a matter of time.

Noah Walters (22) | 6-1 QB | Lincoln East (NE) | 7v7 Team: Nebraska Elite
I could not make this list without mention of Noah Walters, who was absolutely lights out at the tournament. He showed a live-arm and flashed encouraging velocity over the middle of the field and on out routes. Quite simply, the kid can throw well and is one of the prominent up-in-coming quarterbacks out of Nebraska in his class.

Ryley Zalusky (22) | 6-2 QB | The Coloney |7v7 Team: True Buzz
He shows he can be very light on his feet and glide in the pocket like a boxer. I like his ability to throw with his legs, you can tell he generates all of his throwing power using his whole entire body. Really nice mechanics. He is starting to pick up some interest from colleges like UNLV, ASU, just to name a few. Look for him next season , he is an FBS-level prospect who should shine bright next season.
True Buzz advance to Round 2 after a 17-8 win over Team Shutdown ❗️ Both teams earned pints only from turnovers in the beginning.

Alex Buettgen (22) | 6-0 QB | Strake Jesuit | 7v7 Team: Pro Process Academy (P.P.A)
This QB is always putting in work. This weekend was no different. Alex has put in a lot of work with renowned trainer and QB coach from the QB tech, J.P Tillman who trains some of the best athletes into stardom. He’s been very impressive at these tournaments. A little undersized but he can make all the throws and make them look routine.
Duece Barrington (24) | 6-0 QB | Jordan High | 7v7 Team: TX pressure
Duece could be right up there with the top dogs on this list. So last but certainly not least ladies and gents, Mr. Duece Barrington. I like his build, he still has some time to grow but shows to look very athletic at the QB position. I like his arm strength, accuracy, and ability to find the end-zone with pinpoint accuracy. Definitely, a QB to keep your eye on for years to come. Should prove to be special.
