Commitment Report: Roosevelt’s Jabe Kieso to Mesabi Range

<strong>SIOUX FALLS--</strong> We caught up with Sioux Falls Roosevelt WR [player_tooltip player_id="56397" first="Jabe" last="Kieso"] on his decision to take his talents to the Iron Range of Minnesota to play football at Mesabi Range College in Virginia, Minn. Being Roosevelt’s first commit to being a JUCO product in 2021, we got the chance to chat with him about his football future in the Iron Range. <strong>Q: What impacted your decision to become a JUCO product and sign with Mesabi Range College?</strong> <strong>Kieso: </strong>Mesabi Range was the first school to give me a chance to play at the next level and after looking into it, I thought the JUCO route was the best route for me to take to be successful. <strong>Q: Was there any other programs that were in the running or when you got that Mesabi Range offer you knew it was the one?</strong> <strong>Kieso: </strong>I was talking to a few other schools at the time, but one of the things that stuck out about Mesabi was its location. Northern Minnesota is an awesome area, the hills, the lakes, the outdoors, and I’ve always been a fan of colder weather. <strong>Q: What is going to be the biggest football adjustment you are going to need to make to adjust to the college game as a WR for Mesabi Range?</strong> <strong>Kieso: </strong>My biggest adjustments are going to be getting bigger, faster, and adapting myself to a different style of offense. I’ve been in the weight room every day since my high school career ended and improvements are already starting to show. <strong>Q: How and what did you do this season to fuel your future football home?</strong> <strong>Kieso: </strong>This past season, I went into it thinking that I will finally get the opportunity to show people what I can do. But I still feel that I was never given that chance. I know what I am capable of doing, I just need the opportunity to prove that I can do it. The JUCO route is my best opportunity to prove it. <strong>Q: What’s the biggest thing you are looking forward to at the next level at Mesabi Range?</strong> <strong>Kieso: </strong>The biggest thing I am looking forward to is being apart of a new family and building new lifelong memories with them. <strong>Q: What do you plan on majoring in at Masabi Range or are you undecided at the moment?</strong> <strong>Kieso: </strong>I want to go into teaching when I’m done with school, so I plan on getting a degree in early life special education. <strong>Extra Q: You have one meal you have to eat for the rest of your life, what is it?</strong> <strong>Kieso: </strong>if I could have one meal for the rest of my life, it would be a nice breakfast. Eggs, pancakes, bacon, hash browns, sausage, and chocolate milk.
