2022 OL Prospects: Fluid Movers
The 2022 Offensive Line group in Indiana is outstanding. Here are some player profiles of prospects that demonstrate excellent movement skills that translate to the collegiate level. This will be a continuing series, as Prep Redzone looks forward to evaluating and reporting on the talented 2022 Indiana OL group.
Brandon Smith, Decatur Central HS, 6’4, 245
Brandon is a key contributor to the Decatur Central basketball team. This prospect plays both offensive and defensive line. Prep Redzone is very intrigued by Brandon’s potential on the offensive line. He plays tackle for his team, and he can also project to guard. We anticipate that Brandon will continue to make weight and strength gains. He has outstanding height and arm length. He plays with his eyes up, knees bent, and flashes pop and power in his hands. This prospect’s basketball skills translate very nicely to the football field, and he can really move his feet and run. He also flashes fine balance, and he avoids being on the ground.
Razhaun Wells, Mt. Vernon HS, 6’2, 250
Razhaun is also a talented basketball player for Mt. Vernon. This prospect’s football film is very fun to watch. He plays with great energy, and he has the natural ability to move, and he can reach and climb to the second level. He plays with great aggression and a finishing attitude. Razhaun can project to offensive guard, and this prospect has a chance to be an outstanding developmental center. He has a lot of upside, and he will continue to make weight and strength gains. Razhaun’s athleticism, aggression, and movement skills will appeal to many collegiate programs. He is very talented.
Logan Schultz, Winamac HS, 6’5, 270
Logan is another basketball player as he is a contributor to the Winamac hoops team. Logan possesses fine size, and he has a frame to grow into and add more weight and strength. Logan plays offensive tackle for his team. His movement skills, aggression, and hand use are very impressive. Logan can project to offensive guard, and he is also an outstanding candidate to be a center conversion. This prospect plays with fine knee bend, his eyes are up, and he plays with great balance. This prospect flashes the ability to really get after the opposition on his junior football film. Logan is an outstanding collegiate offensive line prospect. He is very athletic, and he is an outstanding mover.
Cooper Crum, Harrison HS, 6’5, 250
Cooper is a valuable contributor to a very talented Harrison football team. Cooper is a 3 sport athlete, as he is a member of the basketball and track teams. This prospect plays offensive tackle, but he could also project to offensive guard and center. Cooper fires out of his stance, and he plays with great pop and aggression. Cooper is a finisher, and he plays with outstanding toughness. He has an “edge” to his game, and he takes pride in getting after his opponent. Cooper has the natural ability to move his feet. He gets on top of his opponents with ease, and he is a natural, fluid mover. He has great balance, and he avoids being on the ground. This prospect has a lot of untapped potential, and he will appeal to many collegiate football programs.
Jack Darlington, Crown Point HS, 6’4, 270
Jack also participates in track and field for Crown Point. This prospect plays offensive tackle for his team. Similar to many of the prospects above, he can also project to offensive guard and center. Jack is very, very athletic. He moves his feet like pistons, and he has a natural ability to reach the second level. Jack will take his opponent “for a ride”, and will block the opposition to the second level. Jack is a finisher, and he plays with great aggression. He flashes nice pop and power in his punch. Jack plays with his eyes up, and he has fine knee bend. Jack looks like a natural conversion to the interior of the offensive line at the collegiate level, and he is on pace to be checked out and evaluated by many college football programs.
Theodore Sparks, Merrillville HS, 6’3, 270
Theodore is also a member of the wrestling team. This prospect is a part of a deep, talented Merrillville roster. I was able to communicate with Head Coach Brad Seiss during their season. He was very pleased with Theodore’s development as a football player, and his gains in weight and strength. Coach Seiss thinks Theodore possesses a lot of upside and untapped potential. This prospect plays offensive tackle for his team. He looks destined to move to offensive guard or center at the collegiate level. He demonstrates fine pass protection ability, and he does a nice job of reaching the second level in the run game. Theodore does a good job of moving his feet, firing out of his stance, and keeping his eyes up. Improvements in weight and strength gains will help to enhance this prospect’s balance and power. Theodore is a fine athlete with a lot of promise and potential. His wrestling traits translate to the football field. You can see his aggression and desire to finish.
Chris Farah, Cathedral HS, 6’4, 275
Chris is a vital member of the Cathedral offensive line. Cathedral captured this past season’s state title, and their OL helped pave the way. This team is chalked with talent, and they execute a lot of high-level offensive plays and schemes. This prospect’s movement skills, eyes, and awareness allow him to be a key cog in this offensive execution. Chris plays the majority of the time at offensive guard, and this position comes very naturally to him. He is fun to watch in the screen game, and he has a natural ability to run and reach the second and even third levels. Chris is a good athlete who finishes, plays with aggression, and displays an advanced knowledge of his team’s offensive playbook and execution. This prospect is tough and smart, and those traits are vital and desirable at the collegiate level of football.
