The updated 2021 rankings are out now and many players have made jumps from their previous ranking or are new faces to the list. Let’s take a look at which senior tight ends climbed up the rankings this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="29902" first="Mitchell" last="DeBrincat"] | 6’4", 210 | Lake Orion
DeBrincat made the biggest jump among senior tight ends this season. He moves really well, shows good hands and has upside as a blocker. He holds a PWO from Central Michigan, but also holds offers from Lawrence Tech, Northwood, Mount Union, Valparaiso, Ohio Wesleyan, Kalamazoo and Lake Erie.
[player_tooltip player_id="29881" first="Lucas" last="Dailey"] | 6’5", 230 | Holland
Dailey is a big sleeper on the west side of the state that has a ton of potential. He is a big body that is a reliable target over the middle of the field with the potential to become a very good blocker at the next level. He holds just one offer from Lawrence Tech.
[player_tooltip player_id="80382" first="Michael" last="Ramirez"] | 6’2", 210 | Catholic Central
Ramirez had a breakout year this season. He is a great athlete for the position with solid hands and route running ability. He doesn't hold any offers right now, but a college program is going to get a steal with him.
[player_tooltip player_id="80360" first="Connor" last="Dykema"] | 6’7", 200 | South Christian
Dykema is a great basketball player, but he made college coaches take notice of what he can do on a football field this season. He has very good height and athleticism for the position, which should help him develop into a dangerous red zone weapon at the next level. He holds offers from Saginaw Valley State, Davenport and Hope.
[player_tooltip player_id="88227" first="Logan" last="Tackett"] | 6’5", 195 | Monroe Jefferson
Tackett was an unknown at the beginning of this season, but he showed some upside this year. He is a raw athlete with the frame that college coaches will want to mold. He is committed to Lawrence Tech and his best football should be ahead of him.
