We decided to look at some under the radar guys with loads of potential. If you have any under the radar CPS prospects, please shoot me their hudl tape via Twitter @jlemming18, as we look to continue this series and spotlight some of the best in the CPS!
ATH: Kejuan Pitts, 5’10, 160, Westinghouse, SR
A twitchy prospect with impressive cutting ability. As a wide receiver, he’s at his best working out of the slot and is more of a slasher. He does have the ability to split out wide and will use his speed to beat corners off press. He even lined up at quarterback at times and used his athletic ability to get outside the pocket and pick up yards on the ground with his legs. On the defensive side, he was a quick-footed cornerback that knows when to break on the football & will go up and get it at its highest point. Pitts can also add some value in the return game as well and had multiple 40 yard plus returns as a junior.

DL: Michael Smith, 6’3, 220, Westinghouse, SR
I was really impressed by Westinghouse’s 2021 squad and how much college-level talent they have on their roster. Smith is a ferocious pass rusher with a good get-off & adequate bend off the edge. He can make tackles in space and has mastered the role tackle. He shows a heavy bull rush in passing downs and will drive opposing tackles back who have 50 plus pounds on him. Smith is an ideal fit in a 3-4 scheme as a standup outside linebacker. His athletic ability allows him to either rush the passer or drop into coverage in third & long situations. I think this young man could grow into a very nice player at the next level.

QB: Terry Barnett, 6’3, 190, Perspectives, SR
Barnett is extremely athletic for a quarterback and can beat you with not only his arm but also his legs. He’s at his best under chaos and can create when literally nothing is there. His wiggle is unusual for a quarterback, and he’s extremely slippery once he gets into space. He’s a great touch thrower on the go the ball and will drop it right into his target’s hands. He has a rare ability among high school quarterbacks to look off safeties and will drop the deep ball opposite of them. He understands coverages and where the holes are in each of them. On film, he shows the ideal football smarts you look for in a quarterback at the next level.

WR: Jaylin Keys Jaylin Keys 5'9" | 155 lbs | WR Christ The King | 2021 IL , 5’9, 150, Christ the King, SR
A shifty, slot receiver prospect who can absolutely take off on you. Despite being a smaller receiver, Keys is comfortable going over the middle and will make something happen after the catch. On film, he shows great vision, allowing him to see the cutback lane a step ahead of the defense. He can get to the edge quickly on jet sweeps and will force your safeties to come down in run support. Keys shows great body control and can adjust to under-thrown deep balls with ease. Despite his team’s struggles, Jaylin still put up 423 yards receiving and 5 touchdowns. This kid is a playmaker and could see some serious production at the next level with a talented cast around him
