1) BIXBY 56, CARL ALBERT 14
In the battle of the dynasties, it was an absolute rout. 6A-D2’s Bixby traveled to Midwest City to face 5A’s Carl Albert in an impromptu non-district game after both teams had their originally scheduled week five games cancelled. Bixby ran all over the Titans in a 56-14 bludgeoning. Junior running back

finished with nearly 300 yards on the ground and six touchdowns in the win. It was our game of the week and it was dominated by the Spartans. Check out our HIGHLIGHTS from Friday night’s showdown.
2) JENKS 38, BROKEN ARROW 30
Broken Arrow stunned Jenks late in their regular season meeting a year ago but this one just slipped away from the Tigers. Broken Arrow led 17-0 but could not hold on to get the important district victory. Jenks and

came thundering back and the Trojans won 38-30. Jenks is now in the driver seat for the district crown after Friday night’s victory. Jenks’ problems early on came from the punting game as they struggled to get several punts off and had one blocked that was recovered for a BA touchdown. Nevertheless, the Trojans prevailed.
3) STILLWATER 48, DEL CITY 27
While most of the attention on Friday night was with the Bixby-Carl Albert showdown, arguably the biggest game in 6A-D2 was Stillwater beating up on Del City 48-27. Just a few miles away from Carl Albert, the Pioneers were making quite the statement as well by running all over a Del City team that might be their toughest test to the district crown. Midwest City and Putnam City North will have something to say about that. But right now, 6A-D2 looks like it is once again.a two-team race between Bixby and Stillwater.
4) VERDIGRIS 31, BERRYHILL 14
In one of the top district battles in Class 3A, Verdigris knocked off Berryhill and the Cardinals are now in the driver seat for the district title. For Berryhill, it was only the third game of the season and their last game was against Broken Arrow’s JV squad. Verdigris’ defense played really well, limiting Berryhill’s offense to just 14 points. finished with five sacks in the victory. The Cardinals added a field goal as time expired to get the maximum amount of district points possible. The young Cards are looking good in Class 3A.
5) CASCIA HALL 34, SPIRO 20
It was a big game in Class 2A between two ranked teams as Spiro traveled to face Cascia Hall. The Commandos got a big win and limited Spiro offensively. Cascia would knock off the Bulldogs 34-20 in one of the bigger 2A games of week five. While Cascia Hall should celebrate a big win over Spiro, they can’t afford to celebrate too long. Top ranked Vian comes to town next week and that game appears to be for the district championship. Cascia has no time to celebrate as they’ll once again welcome in a tough opponent next week.
6) COLLINSVILLE 42, SAPULPA 17
In a big Class 5A showdown, Collinsville dominated the second half to roll to a 42-17 victory over Sapulpa. The game was close for the first two quarters. The Cardinals led 21-17 at halftime. They would steamroll the Chieftains in the third and fourth quarters on their way to a big district victory. Junior quarterback

continued his breakout season with another big game running and throwing the ball. While he has a decent arm, there’s no doubt that Carney’s best abilities come as a runner, he had four rushing touchdowns on the night.
7) HERITAGE HALL 37, PERKINS-TRYON 20
Heritage Hall would need late game heroics from Phillip Smitherman to avoid the upset to Perkins-Tryon last season. They would need no heroics this year in the rematch as they handled the Demons, winning this one 37-20. The Chargers are still the favorites to win their district and are looking to once again be contenders for state after a rare regular season loss a few weeks ago. Heritage Hall was once again led by dynamic junior

, who makes an impact for the Chargers in all three phases of the game and once again did in Friday’s win.
8) CLINTON 21, KINGFISHER 10
A lot of people were excited by the impromptu non-district match-up between Bixby and Carl Albert. However, we saw another big non-district game get scheduled between former rivals as Clinton agreed to go on the road to take on Kingfisher. And the Reds got a big win over the Yellowjackets 21-10. That should give them plenty of momentum going into the rest of district play. It was a low scoring affair and Kingfisher added their only touchdown with less than ten seconds left in the game. Both teams get back to districts this week.
9) WAGONER 28, BRISTOW 7
While we figured Wagoner would get the win here, this was a big measuring stick game for Class 4A’s top ranked team. Bristow captured the district title a year ago and Wagoner was out for some revenge this fall. Wagoner’s defense has been outstanding so far this season but the game against Bristow and their option offense would provide the toughest test to the Wagoner front seven. The Bulldogs passed easily by holding Bristow to just seven points. While Wagoner still has a test or two, they’re certainly in the driver seat for the district title.
10) OWASSO 33, NORMAN NORTH 22
Coming into the week, we knew that Owasso would be a big favorite going on the road to take on Norman North. However, we wanted to see how the T’Wolves would look coming off a big win over Mustang. And despite the loss, we’re very impressed with what the T’Wolves are building. They gave Owasso everything they wanted and then some. But at the end of the day, the Rams are the defending champs for a reason and the top dog in 6A-D1 for a reason. Despite Norman North keeping it close, the result was never in doubt.
