Continue ReadingSouthern California right now has probably the most talented players in the nation. This 2023, class is by far something else we’ve seen. While some of these players aren’t sleepers anymore because of their fantastic freshmen season on varsity but I still put them on here because they deserve it and they are young and gifted.
Makai Lemon Makai Lemon 6'0" | 175 lbs | ATH Los Alamitos | 2023 State CA , Los Alamitos, WR/CB, 23’
He is already receiving a lot of attention after his freshmen season on varsity. #1 ATH and #8 player in the nation. He reeled in 57 catches for 774 yards with 5 touchdowns and rushed for another 784 yards. On defense, he had 25 total and 13 solo tackles with 4 interceptions. Lockdown corner/island type DB. On offense, he has all the tools and will break your ankles. He will be a power 5 starter, 5 star in the future. At this rate, I can see him going to the NFL. He has 8 big offers.

Jeremiah Calvin Jeremiah Calvin 6'3" | 240 lbs | ATH John Muir | 2023 State CA , John Muir, WR/SS, 23’
A 4 star, Max preps All-American. 6’3”, 235 pounds. In 9 games, he racked up 22 total tackles with 13 solo, 3 sacks, 1 interception to the house for a touchdown. This kid is a very talented player. As a freshmen, he reminds me of Tedric Thompson (Chiefs) when he was at Valencia doing work as a freshmen on Varsity. He will have a similar role on offense and defense as he grows older. On the college level, we should see him excel on defense. Has an offer from Washington State.
RJ Jones RJ Jones 6'1" | 190 lbs | DB St. John Bosco | 2023 State CA , Bishop Alemany, S, 23’
6’1”, 180 pound 4 star who is an absolute beast. In 11 games, as a freshmen on varsity, he had 43 total, 22 solo, 3 pass deflects and 4 interceptions. Physical and is elusive. He’s the best safety in his class in my eyes for sure. A versatile, athletic defender who can give offensive coordinators trouble. He will also be a starter to wherever he commits to as a true freshmen. He should have a monster season in the 20-21 upcoming season.
Jeremiah Ingram, Los Alamitos, WR/CB, 23’
Him and his buddy Makai, are only going to push each other to be great. He is a stud like Makai himself. He is very fast. Very impressive for freshmen’s to perform high on this level. In 11 games, he reeled in 3 catches for 93 yards and 1 touchdown and on defense he had 22 total, 18 solo tackles, 15 pass defensed and 2 interceptions. He is a physical corner who will not back down from anything. Has so much potential and upside. Future 5 star/power 5 starter and at his rate, NFL in the future.
Bj Tolo, Mater Dei, OG, 23’
6’1, 290 pound beast who is reliable in the trenches. He was named to Maxpreps 2020 Preseason Sophomore All-American. He is the 1st freshmen in Mater Dei history to start full time on the offensive line. He will for sure he 5 stars by the time he is a senior. He is ranked #7 best offensive guard in the nation. Already has 3 offers from Oregon, Colorado State and Kansas.

Matayo Uiagalelei Matayo Uiagalelei 6'5" | 265 lbs | DL St. John Bosco | 2023 State CA , St John Bosco, TE/DE, 23’
He definitely has the upside to be a 5 star just like his older brother. Playing in 4 games, he racked up 5 total tackles and 2 solo with one fumble recovery. He is already ranked as a 4 star and should have an all star year in the 20-21 season. He should be a mismatch at the TE and DE spot. He is still growing taller, bigger and stronger. He is ready to show the world that DJ won’t get all the shine. Younger brother has to eat too. Matayo should have a huge impactful season for the Braves. He has 9 huge offers.
