We've updated our prospect rankings for the 2022 class here in Oklahoma. You can now check out the top 75 juniors in Oklahoma. Continuing today, we'll have more breakdowns on some of those top juniors in the state. This post will take a look at five of the best offensive linemen in the current junior class. The OL class already appears to be strong and feature the top overall prospect.
[player_tooltip player_id="38740" first="Alton" last="Robinson"] - Choctaw
A lot of attention on Choctaw's offensive line is paid to [player_tooltip player_id="38673" first="Cade" last="McConnell"], who comes in at #8 in these rankings. However, look at the interior and you'll see perhaps the top interior lineman in the state, regardless of class. He played center last year and is a big time physical lineman. He uses the combination of absolute power and a great get off to bully opposing defensive tackles. If you pay attention to recruiting and football in Oklahoma, you've probably heard about all of the young talent at Choctaw. Robinson is just one part of a wealth of talent along the offensive line that will be making an impact for a while. Robinson continues to impress this fall.
[player_tooltip player_id="38673" first="Cade" last="McConnell"] - Choctaw
We told you that the future is bright at Choctaw. We already mentioned [player_tooltip player_id="38673" first="Cade" last="McConnell"] being one of the top linemen in the state, along with his teammate Robinson. McConnell uses his size extremely well and he wants to play a very physical brand of football. McConnell is outstanding when he's able to just lock into a defender and move them back in the run game. Another quality we like about the Choctaw standout is his ability to continue the play into the next level where linebackers and defensive backs have no chance against him. While Robinson is dominating on the inside, look at McConnell terrorizing opponents on from the tackle position.
[player_tooltip player_id="38683" first="Cash" last="Hudson"] - Bishop Kelley
Bishop Kelley's [player_tooltip player_id="38683" first="Cash" last="Hudson"] is right there in the conversation as one of the best interior offensive lineman prospects in this class. Hudson is a dominant run blocker and he has some quick feet. For his size, he moves very quickly and gets from point A to point B in a hurry. As he continues to grow and gain more experience, don't be surprised if Hudson moves up quite a bit. He's a prospect that we really like in this 2022 class and has a very high ceiling. Bishop Kelley is off to an undefeated start and appear to be one of the best teams in 5A football. Anchoring the offense and becoming one of the leaders this season has been Hudson along the offensive line.
[player_tooltip player_id="38666" first="Jacob" last="Sexton"] - Deer Creek
Deer Creek's [player_tooltip player_id="38666" first="Jacob" last="Sexton"] checks every single box you want in an elite offensive tackle. The big man is the next All American candidate to come out of Oklahoma on the offensive line. What's scary is how much better he'll get between now and Signing Day because he appears to be one of the best in the country right now. While there's always room to grow, Sexton is the complete package. He checks in with our ranking update as the top overall prospect in the 2022 class and the runaway favorite for the best at his position. Sexton continues to get better every single time he steps on the field and has a tight grip on the top spot in this junior class.
[player_tooltip player_id="61128" first="Lane" last="Parks"] - Yukon
It shouldn't be that big of a surprise that Yukon has produced an offensive lineman that's one of the best in his class. The Millers are running the flexbone option offense under head coach Jeremy Reed and junior [player_tooltip player_id="61128" first="Lane" last="Parks"] is able to showcase his raw power on just about every play for the Millers. Parks is able to line up and push forward on just about every play and Yukon is once again one of the most productive offenses in the state right now. Parks has good size and obviously has a good skill set when it comes to run blocking. Now the one negative in his game is because of the offense, he doesn't have to pass block very often in any given game.
