Analysis: In 2019, the Pilots forfeited their playoff opener against Birmingham Groves due to hazing allegations. They enter 2020 with a new head coach and many eyes on the program after the fallout of the investigation. The team has a few options at quarterback, which include senior J.C. Ford and sophomore Brady Drogosh, but I think junior [player_tooltip player_id="30241" first="Carson" last="Roose"] has some upside and may have the best shot of winning the starting job. Regardless of who is under center, they will have a playmaker in Alton McCullum to throw to. [player_tooltip player_id="29785" first="Brett" last="Stanley"], DeNiro Johnson and John Hunt make up a solid stable of backs that should be this offense’s strength, but keep an eye on junior tight end Gavin Grzywacz as he could be a breakout player at the position. [player_tooltip player_id="30280" first="Kadin" last="Featherstone"], Williams Boulus and Anthony McCollom are key pieces returning on an offensive line. On defense, [player_tooltip player_id="30205" first="Will" last="Beesley"] is a standout player, but guys like [player_tooltip player_id="30064" first="Dylan" last="Weaver"] and Matthew Bushon are players that everyone needs to keep an eye on. De La Salle has the talent to end their season on a much higher note than they did last year and could make an appearance at Ford Field this spring.
